Why do Frummies drive like idiots?

It’s true, the more religious the community, the worse the drivers they produce. Have you been to Boro Park or Flatbush? What about The Five Towns or the Catskils, it’s really a nightmare. Luckily, other folks like my dear friend Rabbi Rabbs shares this sentiment, he made the following video to show how bad frum women drive, the problem is that he’s in LA, these drivers look great compared to the ones on Coney Island Ave. The video is negative but, I personally found it hilarious – he reminds me of This Guy.

Letters to the Editor 204 letters since 2010

  1. #1-the highway code is chukat hagoyim
#2- Driving with with 5 kids in a van can’t be very easy.
#3-I may be off on this one, but some frummies just have a sense of entitlement when driving, as if the road was built for them. Anyone else feel the same way?

    1. Given the contempt with which most “traditional” Jews I’ve met treat all laws and regulations I’d have to go with #1 and #3

      1. Hi A. Nuran, we’ve argued in the past, but not today I’m just curious if you find thi Rabbi Rabbs funny?
        Thanks

        1. Complete honesty here, and I’m sorry about this Rabbi Rabbs…

I don’t find his material very funny. The timing is rough. The jokes don’t grab me. The delivery is no better than adequate. If you stripped off the peyos and tzitzis he would be a serviceable second- or third-tier comic, someone I wouldn’t go out of my way to see. The subjects? I’ve only seen a couple. They really weren’t my cuppa.

Comedy is hard to get right. From a purely technical point of view he doesn’t quite make it.

          1. A. Nuran, you don’t need to apologize. You’re entitled to your opinion, but I appreciate that you did. I know I am not everyone’s cup of tea, and like I stated, Jews aren’t my target audience anyway, so if you’re Jewish, I fully expect you not to “get” me, and when you don’t get me, it doesn’t register on my Richter scale.

However, you might ask yourself why is it that a fellow professional comedian, Heshy Fried, who you do pay attention to, considers frummymobile hilarious.

          2. Newsflash! People who say something IS or ISN’T funny are assuming that the universe revolves around themselves. “Oh hi, because I don’t consider this comedy, it isn’t comedy. I rule the world and what I say goes for everyone!”

Which is *exactly* the same premise of the video. People thinking they can block traffic because they have to “wait in line to get a parking space” – on the street! You wait in line for a parking space in a PARKING LOT – at a shopping mall, a university, a ball park. It is not called waiting in line for a parking space when you are on a busy street – it is called operating under the delusion that the universe revolves around you and we should all inconvenience ourselves for your benefit.

I didn’t fully appreciate the subject of this video until I stood in front of Nagila and couldn’t hear my friend talking because a frummie was blocking traffic and every car that drove by honked! Guess what, they weren’t admiring males honking and waving at me. They were irrate drivers honking and gesturing at the frummie blocking traffic. So according to some people on this thread, one frummie “waiting for a parking space” has a right to disturb, distract and possibly even cause an accident.

            Um, NOT.

          3. That’s why I confined myself to the technical quality of the delivery and the trade-skills of a comic and added a separate proviso about the material.

There are plenty of comics whose material I like who have poor delivery and ones with good chops whose material isn’t to my taste. It’s not that hard to separate the two.

          4. “Technical quality” and “trade-skills”? Where is the universal definition of comedy you are referring to that we all must adhere to? Wait, let me guess – it’s a “given”. What’s it like to be convinced that your opinion is the only correct one? It must be like living in a vacuum. That whooshing sound you hear is you being sucked into space. Buh-bye!

          5. Leslie, you are off base here. If A. Nuran had offered, unsolicited, his opinion about the quality of Rabbi Rabbs’ comedic talent, you would be correct. But, since he was explicitly asked, his response was warranted and appropriate.

          6. Incorrect, DrumIntellect. A. Nuran wrote, and I quote, “Comedy is hard to get right. From a purely technical point of view he doesn’t quite make it.” This is a completely different animal from saying, “In my opinion, he doesn’t quite make it.”

Through his choice of words, A. Nuran asserts that he has the authority to define what makes comedy and what doesn’t. In reality, comedy is absolute relativity, and I for one admit that something I find comedic you may not agree with. I am simply asking that people stop acting as if they are an authority on comedy when, by its very nature, comedy defies authority.

          7. Sorry Leslie, but you aren’t going far enough back in the thread.

This portion of the thread begins with John asking A. Nuran for his opinion. (And I quote) “I?m just curious if you find thi Rabbi Rabbs funny?”

At this point A. Nuran gives his opinion. What should he do? Say, ‘no I don’t think it’s funny” without explaining why? Of course he’s going to give _his_ opinion and he’s going to give _his_ reason(s) why.

(Besides, I think the portion you quoted is very fair. He doesn’t make fun of the comedian or call him a loser. He stresses how hard it is to produce comedy and regrets that the comedian fails at it. Many people who try on comedy fail at it. It’s not a badge of dishonor.)

          8. Sorry Leslie, but you aren’t going far enough back in the thread.

          9. I’m tired of repeating myself. Your argument would not hold up in any debate. Whether or not someone asked for his/her opinion, he/she stated it as fact. You and your friend do not get to decide what “makes” comedy. That is up to each individual.

          10. Leslie, I assume you mean ” [In my opinion] You and your friend do not get to decide what “makes” comedy. That is up to each individual.”
Otherwise as the Pastor pointed out, youd be violating your own rules

          11. Rabbs, do you seriously make fun of Jews other than yourself in front of Goyim? Non-Jews shouldn’t be looking at something like this as comedy. Maybe some Hasidic people need to watch their driving but that isn’t funny at all. They could really hurt themselves or other people if they drive like this.
Jewish people shouldn’t be pointed out as funny just because they are kind of frummy looking either.
Isn’t comedy making fun of your own life experiences and because other people have the same issues, they can relate and that is why it is funny?

If you use the word “Goy” to describe your target audience, you probably don’t care about them enough to relate. They don’t like that word and if you are in the business of making them laugh, you should know that and have some respect for it. I don’t see how a Hasidic man would be able to relate to a Gentile audience at all, except by making fun of Jews/Judaism and bringing attention to his differences. How do you do it?

          12. “Rabbs, do you seriously make fun of Jews other than yourself in front of Goyim? Non-Jews shouldn’t be looking at something like this as comedy.”

That’s not only ridiculous, but again, I bet you would never say that if I had a clean-shaven face, long hair, and a Metallica t-shirt, and married a shigza. Tons of such Jewish comedians make fun of Jews all the time in front of the Goyim, and I bet you never have a problem with them.

“Jewish people shouldn’t be pointed out as funny just because they are kind of frummy looking either.”

If you can’t laugh at yourself, then you have no sense of humor. Lighten up, dude. Watch what non-Jewish comedian Sharon Barragan says in my video, “Un-Orthodox”.

“Isn’t comedy making fun of your own life experiences and because other people have the same issues, they can relate and that is why it is funny?”

Ah, but the rub is that people who are not Jewish actually relate very well to me. I have found over the past decade or so that the other groups besides Jews relate to Rabbi Rabbs. You might be surprised to learn that those who are raised as Catholics grow up with many similarities to frummies. That’s the beauty of my comedy — I break down barriers.

“If you use the word “Goy” to describe your target audience, you probably don’t care about them enough to relate. They don’t like that word”

Not true. My fans don’t have a problem with that term. I use it as a substitute for Gentiles, just as I say shigza as a substitute for non-Jewish woman. Nothing derogatory meant by it when I say or write it.

“I don’t see how a Hasidic man would be able to relate to a Gentile audience at all, except by making fun of Jews/Judaism and bringing attention to his differences. How do you do it?”

I will defer that question to my non-Jewish fans to answer.

          13. Hi leslie, according to you “Newsflash! People who say something IS or ISN’T funny are assuming that the universe revolves around themselves.” I’m wondering do you think Rabbbi Rabbs is funny?

          14. Hi Pastor! Thanks for your question. In response, I would never assert that Rabbs *is* or *isn’t* funny, because I can’t make that call for you. What I CAN say is that, in my opinion, Rabbs has a raucous sense of humor and he tickles my funny bone so much I almost pee my pants. But the universe doesn’t revolve around me, so you’ll have to make up your own mind lol!

          15. so let me get this straight, everytime somebody asks a questions like “is it hot in here?”,” is x a good movie?” or ” is Obama doing a good job?” The corrct response is (in your opinion i guess): “in my opinion its hot,” ” in my opinion x was not that good,” or” in my opinion Obama is doing a great job”?
Of course this begs the question: since it is your opinion that the proper thing to say in every answer ever given is “in myopinion…” shouldnt you realize that the world does not revolve around you, and their are those who assume that since their opinion was asked they dont have to specify that this is their opinion?
Im curious to hear your thoughts, thanks

  2. Well, if you’re praying so often, surely Hashem is looking out for you and the behavior of traffic (and the cops) are up to Him, so why take personal accountability?

  3. Totally. It’s either the frum women who are totally clueless, or the frum men who think that everyone on the road should make room for him because of his incredible yichus! personally, I think it’s because when they take driver’s ed, they take it about as seriously as they take every other secular study!

My 8 year old girl was in an after school program run by Seminary girls, who then drove her back home afterwards. My girl stopped going, because she was afraid that the driver was going to kill her!

  4. Can I presume that this post was put up in order to make fun of whoever made that video?
    He has major issues.

    1. Really? “Major issues?” You mean like a raucous sense of humor? Or the ability to laugh at himself? Or maybe you’re simply referring to his eye for the obvious.

      1. Lol!!! leslie did you say he has a racous sense of humor? do you think the world revolves around you? you a very wise poster commented earlier: “Newsflash! People who say something IS or ISN’T funny are assuming that the universe revolves around themselves.”
id love to see you wiggle your way out of that one

  5. Obnoxious male drivers and clueless female drivers is more of a New York thing than a Frummie thing.

BTW, Whoever made this video is a serious hater.

    1. First, you hated on women by writing “clueless female drivers”, and a breath later, you complained “Whoever made this video is a serious hater”.

      I can’t make this sh*t up, folks!

  6. Regardless of whether I agree with the premise, I found the video “not” funny and seemed just bitter.

    1. Unless the off-key singer has his own wife and kids, perhaps he’s bitter about this.

But in my neighborhood, the worst thing is when a driver slows traffic so he can wave to his cousin on the sidewalk.

          1. Somehow the novelty of a rabbi with peyot, beard, and potty mouth wore off very quickly for me.

    2. Bitter? Ok, I understand that we all have a different idea of funny, and some people are just too serious to “get” sarcasm and self-deprecating humor. But nothing in this video exhibits intense animosity. The cute lyrics, the catchy tune (which, btw, I can’t get out of my head now!) suggest playfulness, not bitterness. If you don’t have a sense of humor, just say so. But please refrain from using misleading descriptors.

      1. Heshy disagrees “The video is negative but, I personally found it hilarious” he thinks its negative too

        1. Bitter and negative are two different words. Unless Heshy weighs in on this, and I doubt he wants to get involved in the hate-fest, I’m going to have to assume that HE knows the difference.

It’s obvious this video focuses on something negative. Causing traffic jams and near-auto accidents is not a positive thing. A positive video about frummies might focus on those who are morally upright and follow the law of the land. But in case you missed it the first time, I will repeat, “nothing in this video exhibits intense animosity [the dictionary definition of bitter]. The cute lyrics, the catchy tune (which, btw, I can’t get out of my head now!) suggest playfulness, not bitterness.”

http://www.google.com is a great resource for looking up words you don’t know the meaning of. Please use it.

        2. Wow, did Heshy appoint you as his official spokesperson? No, didn’t think so. Bitter and negative are two different words, Anonymous. Unless Heshy weighs in on this, and I doubt he wants to get involved in the hate-fest, I’m going to have to assume that HE knows the difference.

In the future, feel free to use a dictionary to look up the definitions of words you don’t know.

          1. unlike you I dont need help looking up words but you obviously do so let me help out: negative “designed or tending to discredit, especially without positive or helpful suggestions” (one of several definitions)
incidently did Rabbi Rabs appoint you as his spokesperson?
(im not anonymous anymore hope youre happy)

          2. Kim, nothing in the definition you quoted contradicts what Leslie stated. There is a world of difference between “discredit without positive” and “intense animosity, hatred, and bitterness”. Negative does not by definition include the latter.

Also, using a random first name does not remove your anonymity.

  7. The reason why frummies drive like idiots is because of learned behavior. They see their own parents/other frummies driving this way and they mimic what they observe. Within their immediate communities, double-parking, illegal u-turns, not using a turn signal, speeding through yellow lights, cutting people off, and generally being obnoxious are the norm, and so they internalize these behaviors and act accordingly.

The more important question is why there is cultural that promotes this kind of behavior in the frum community. It probably has something to do with the general disregard for the secular societal rules, the belief by some that they are better/more important than the driver in their way, and the anonymity and security provided by a vehicle that does not exist with normal interactions.

  8. I dont think its the frummer the community the worse the drive. I think its the frummer the community the less they think about other people and just more about themselves.

      1. Oh please. Is there any valid criticism of the frum community in which you wouldn’t play the anti-semitism card? It may be true that rude driving is not unique to the frum community, but it surely appears to be disproportionate to the larger society.

        1. Although I agree that playing the anti-Semitism card is lame, it doesn’t even need to be that frummy rudeness on the roads is disproportionate. How we compare to the rest of the world is irrelevant. The main thing is that we have a problem, and we should fix it. What I did in my video is merely bring to light a problem that needs to be addressed.

To call it anti-Semitism is a defense mechanism set up by the yetzer horah so as not to take ownership of a problem, but rather dismiss it entirely.

          1. It’s still anti-Semitism if it’s Jews making fun of other Jews? You people are hopeless. Life is hard enough, why not laugh at everything?

            Good Shabbos all.

          2. mamash baaya!! Yekke.

Maybe next do a video on how late Persians are to any event and how it ruins everyones lives. Those bastards. And don’t forgot about making a video about those that don’t put the knives and forks on the right side of the plate and how inflamed we all get.

            Yekke

  9. On youtube there are dozens of videos about bad women drivers (all funnier than this one incidently), it isnt limited to frummies.

      1. Hi loved the video, but which line in the video was a response to my comment?
Or was that just a trick to get me to watch, there’s no need for that I love all your videos Its a lot of fun laughing at you, I’m sharing them with my friends too

        1. Thank you for watching that video, and for your positive feedback. Much appreciated. Glad you loved it. The key line in it is that I don’t perform for Jewish audiences, because Jews will not laugh “for me”.

And, it was also a trick to further promote my videos, and it worked. 😉

          1. Ah…. sneaky!
Since I’m such a fan could you please respond to my comment?
            here it is again:
“On youtube there are dozens of videos about bad women drivers (all funnier than this one incidently), it isnt limited to frummies.”

          2. Im not sure what you mean, i’m wondering why you think bad driving is a frummy issue, when there are dozens of videos on youtube titled bad women driver. It doesnt seem to have anything to do with frummies at all?

          3. It might apply to everyone, but frummies are my community, so I elected to make fun of us and leave making fun of other communities to comedians from those communities.

          4. Then the entire premise of the video is lost The premise being that frum women are bad drivers “Frummy alert frummy alert now I go out with a wig and a skirt…” if in reality it applies to everyone.

          5. “Then the entire premise of the video is lost”

Not at all. If every kid on the plant throws ice cream in the backseat of a SUV, it still works when I say a Jewy kid puts on his yarmalkah, plays with his tzitzis, sits in the back of the frummymobile, and throws ice cream.

  10. What scares me is when I see a 17 year old, who obviously just got her license, trying to negotiate the tiny parking lot of a kosher store or a seforim store, while behind the wheel of a Suburban or an Ecnonoline with her 8 siblings in the car.

  11. How about the Frummie Dudes who do all that and worse! Its easy to dig at the women cuz men always like to do that, but sheesh… get a grip and really look around!

  12. Sorry to break it to all you haters, but it aint just the frummies that drive crazy – its everyone – non-Jews even worse than frummies.
Its only fun to make fun of frummies if its for something that they do exclusively.

    1. I could agree there about non-Jews. Especially 60+ retired people in Florida. They are worse than any drivers I can think of and most of them are not Jewish. Tp be fair there are a few Jewish ones and no frummies where I live.

    2. I disagree. I make fun of everyone. I couldn’t care less what one’s background is. Everyone is fair game, and frummies are not immune to that. There are other bad drivers in other communities, but I chose to make fun of frummies because they are right here in my neighborhood. I will let some non-Jewish comedian make fun of the bad drivers amongst the Goyim in their neighborhood.

    3. Not all frummies are bad drivers.
Not all Gentiles are good drivers.
But the chance of a random frummie being a bad driver is much, much higher than a random Gentile being one.

      1. Nuran,

I disagree. Chinese women are by far the world’s worst drivers, even in those tiny, easy to handle cars.

Ever wonder while they all ride bikes in China? Imagine the traffic congestion in the world’s most populated country with the world’s worst drivers…

        1. That’s one where we’d need to do a study to determine which of the two produced the worst drivers. The competition is pretty fierce.

          1. Heshy posted that as bad as the frummies drive in LA, it’s worse in NYC. I saw first-hand that as bad as the drivers are in NYC, it’s worse in the State of Israel. I have Persian Jewish friends who told me that as bad as it is in the State of Israel, it’s worse in Iran. And, I have friends from Beijing that told me that as bad as it is in Iran, it’s far worse in China. 🙂

          2. The British called syphilis “The French Disease”. The French called it “The Italian Disease”. The Italians called it “The Sicilian Disease”. Same ‘ol. Same ‘ol.

          3. New Yorkers drive in a city which wasn’t built for cars. Relatively few people drive, and many of those do so irregularly. With all its troubles NYC’s transit system can still get you pretty much anywhere you want to go and do so pretty quickly. The city itself doesn’t cover that many square miles. A lot of the development is vertical.

Los Angeles sprawls. It’s designed for cars. Everyone drives because anyone who wants to get anywhere has to go by car. It’s a lousy place to walk, and people look down on anyone who uses the (primitive, underfunded, badly maintained, purposely neglected) public transportation. If you take the bus or what passed for a subway you are looked down on as poor and/or crazy. Seriously. Transit lines are explicitly designed to keep people who use them out of wealthy neighborhoods in a form of really vicious mobility red-lining.

So people there are better drivers. They have to be.

  13. Its a shame that someone is gripping at straws for a laugh, that he would go so low and make fun of things that don’t exist, maybe he should realize when. 5 seconds of fame are gone and enjoy it while it lasted, b/c that was a lame attempt to try to persuade any TV network producer and heshy I doubt u should associate urself with this guy, although ur stuff can be conterversal and sometimes funny while other times, not so much, this is bitter and won’t be good for aura while ur out in cali getting ur chill on

      1. Glad to give u some material, apparently, ur only stuff is self depricating, and the laughs u get r b/c its unique for an alleged “rabbi” to go into a night club, all I’m saying is work on ur material and hatzlacha with ur new act

  15. Why do frummies drive like idiots?

“Because they want to get to Olam Haba real quickly.” – my dad.

Some idiot was blocking my mom’s driveway the other night, with his vehicle jutted out into the street feet away from the curb. I left him a note on his windshield, and the car was gone within an hour or so.

    1. To be fair, my non-Jewish neighbor often blocks my driveway because between him and his wife & kids, they have about 7 cars. All it takes is a little knock on the door and a reminder to “Please move your Xterra.”

      1. What if it’s midnight? What if there’s an emergency and you need to take somebody to the hospital? What if you know they won’t have moved your car by the time you need to leave for work the next morning?

  16. SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT

I live in the neighborhood in the video across the street from where you see those minivans (gray one) and black Benz on the side walk. What they are doing is something EVERYONE does when they go there. They are trying to enter Pico Glatt. The parking lot is extremely small and its shares with a couple of other businesses. So to get parking there, you literally have to wait in line for someone else to leave, then you pull in to the spot, and the next guy behind you waits (while your car sticking out like that). Those are the rules in place of how to park there and even the people that are not frum do it. Logistically, there is no other way to handle that parking space. The same principle works down the street at Glatt Mart.

This particular video has nothing to do with frum driving.

    1. “you literally have to wait in line … (while your car sticking out like that). Those are the rules in place of how to park there”

      FALSE

You do not have to wait in line. No one is forcing you to do anything. You could simply do as I do and find parking elsewhere. The rules of the place are not created by the frummies that park in that lot. Instead, the rules of the place were created by the government which mandate that at no time may a vehicle stop on the sidewalk, nor block traffic.

The gray vehicle that was driven by a frummy woman with a wig and a skit (I didn’t show her face so as not to embarrass her, and she was giving me a dirty look the whole time I filmed that scene), and the vehicle stopped on the sidewalk ahead of it (also driven by a frummy) which together completely blocked that sidewalk and created a traffic tie-up, are clearly violating the rules.

The mere fact that you justify and rationalize such behavior and that of others that continuously do the same exact thing at that driveway only proves that YOU are part of the problem. Thank you for proving my point 100%, and for SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT that what I showed in the video is accurate.

      1. >You do not have to wait in line. No one is forcing you to do anything. You could simply do as I do and find parking elsewhere.

Really? Where? On the streets that won’t allow you with the permits required? That is their parking lot with only one entrance.

        >The rules of the place are not created by the frummies that park in that lot. Instead, the rules of the place were created by the government which mandate that at no time may a vehicle stop on the sidewalk, nor block traffic.

Don’t be such a yekke. Drivers most of the time leave enough space for walkers and anyone behind the vehicle simply goes around any vehicle waiting. Its not such a big deal. I mean how anal can you be? It doesn’t even bother the cops that I see passing by.

        >The mere fact that you justify and rationalize such behavior and that of others that continuously do the same exact thing at that driveway only proves that YOU are part of the problem. Thank you for proving my point 100%, and for SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT that what I showed in the video is accurate.

No, because NON frum people use the spaces as well. People park there for Factors and Nagila. Yes, TECHNICALLY we are all breaking the local ordinances. But this has nothing to do with frummies driving badly. It has do with there being one entrance to that parking lot and needing to wait till someone leaves. You really making a mountain out of nothing.

        1. I shop at that store all the time, and I have NEVER parked in that lot. The two cross streets surrounding the store, Elm and Rexford, do not require permits during normal business hours. Permits are only required at night when Pico Glatt is closed. Elm and Rexford have tons of ample parking.

And, the first street north of Pico doesn’t require permits ever, so you can park there at anytime. To say “well, I’m too lazy to find parking on the side street, so I’ll just block traffic for 25 miles back”, is tantamount to arguing in traffic court that the traffic laws don’t apply to you because you were in a hurry to get to work.

I’ve seen motorists argue that in court, and I have never seen any of them convince a judge doing so.

This is not a case of me being anal about “rules are rules”. Rather, this is a case of you blocking traffic because you are too inconsiderate to go park your car on the side street, so you feel it is ok to block all cars driving on Pico.

          1. >I’ll just block traffic for 25 miles back”,

Any more drama? Seriously 25 miles? Pico most of the day is empty. Normal business days are not the problem since any car with its trunk sticking out slightly is not going to cause traffic since Pico is not really packed for it to cause such a back up. And Elm till witworth requires permit after 6 which is when most people after work go shopping. Though I guess you can send people after whitworth to park.

I don’t know where you live, but I live on Rexford, this great pile up of cars due to someone waiting for approximately 2 minutes simply does not happen. You are not in Manhattan here.

          2. You just contradicted yourself. The most crowded time on Pico is from 4-8, and after 6 it is at the peak of rush hour. If you claim that is also when most people do their shopping and can’t find street parking, and therefore need that parking lot, then that is precisely when they will cause the most amount of traffic congestion to Pico, as that is right in the middle of the heaviest traffic of the day.

          3. True, But interestingly enough, this horrible pile up of yours doesn’t occur. Simply put, drivers see two cars there, and they move on or try to come back in a moment. A driver wanting to make a LEFT from the center divider doesn’t turn till its empty. (if they did, well, they would be blocking all the lanes). I see two cars there, and can’t scoot my car to the right as much as possible (ie, in the parking lane) I make a circle around till and give it some time. Pico Glatt is the only store we shop in, and I simple do not see a great traffic jam there. The turn over in the lot is not that slow

          4. If you live on Rexford, I don’t understand why you even need to park in that lot. Where you live is where I park to shop there. But, whatever, this photo proves the tie-up occurs:

            rabbs.com/pico/pico.jpg

          5. I live south of Pico. Large shopping sprees after work on the way home.

That pic doesn’t not show a “pile up” sorry. Let alone till Robertson. Yes, cars swerve out of the way (which is what I said they do). I mean, geez, for goodness sake. The worse case scenerio is you probably have 4 cars behind him waiting. (which is what I said, the pileup is till rexford where shanghai is- some pile up)

Look, what can I say. I expect you to stand there with a sign telling people how awful they from now on. Right next to that guy with the pony tail always asking for money.

          6. You win! That entire scene was staged. I paid drivers to block traffic for the video. Traffic like that never happens in reality. Frummy drivers never block the sidewalk nor do they block cars on Pico, and horns never go off at them from angry motorists. I lied about that, too.

Reader Leslie lied. I lied. It’s a vast right-wing conspiracy.

            Happy?

          7. Happy?

            No.

I just think you are blowing this out of proportion. Pile up till Robertson?????? You video is shot from front, hence any space between cars is invisible. Sorry, but it does seem you have some sort of vandetta here. Your video about mocking people having lots of kids because it makes them more Jewish sort of shows that.

BTW, I never said they don’t block the sidewalk, I actually said their cars ARE on the sidewalk but that for the most part, space is given for pedestrians. (in fact, if you don’t want them blocking traffic, they sort of have to be on the sidewalk moving inwards)

          8. “Your video about mocking people having lots of kids because it makes them more Jewish sort of shows that. ”

No. What I did was try to bring out what must be going on inside the brains of the women that behave so rudely. As other readers pointed out, frummies might think they own the world, and therefore are exempt from traffic laws. My song captures how such a person might think and what leads up to their conclusion that they in fact are so important (eg) having 12 kids, and wearing a mop on their head.

“(in fact, if you don’t want them blocking traffic, they sort of have to be on the sidewalk moving inwards)”

Grrr! They don’t have to be anywhere. There is no excuse to block traffic, and there is no excuse to block the sidewalk. You can’t say “I didn’t want to shoot the person so I stole money from him instead”, and you can’t say “I didn’t want to block traffic in the street so I blocked all pedestrian traffic on the sidewalk”. That sidewalk belongs to the people walking.

Yeah, yeah, now you’re going to call me a yekke again. Lather, rinse, repeat.

          9. Look, the truth is, I would agree with you, had what you are saying of this “great and terrible pile up” was a reflection of reality vs you simply nitpicking at stuff. There are times when some third car is totally taking up two lanes and nobody can pass, then fine. Jerk. But I park there all the time. People that wait make sure to scoot there cars as far in as they can so that cars have room on the lane to pass. This 25 mile pile up simply does not exist.

          10. You want to tell me again that the pile up simply does not exist?

            rabbs.com/pico/pico.jpg

and that was captured before rush hour. watch the video again and see how the rude driver caused a bottleneck, forcing the two lanes to merge into one lane to maneuver around the SUV.

Nothing new. That is typical. Do that after 6 pm, and that bottleneck could go all the way back to Robertson or further.

Thank you for proving my point 100%, and for SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT that what I showed in the video is accurate..

No, because NON frum people use the spaces as well. You implicated this with FRUMMIES. People park there for Factors and Nagila and anyone that needs that space simply waits till someone leaves. Yes, TECHNICALLY we are all breaking the local ordinances. But this has nothing to do with frummies driving badly. It has do with there being one entrance to that parking lot and needing to wait till someone leaves. You really making a mountain out of nothing.

      3. >You do not have to wait in line. No one is forcing you to do anything. You could simply do as I do and find parking elsewhere.

Oh please. There is one entrance. most of the time traffic is not being stopped because what is being blocked is the parking lane. Besides, where do you want everyone to park?? In the streets that require permits?? Stop being such a yekke potz.

So yes, TECNICALLY, we are all violating some city ordinance. For the most parts, drivers always leave room for walkers and the cops the pass by don’t mind it. There is no difference in your case of traffic being stopped vs. anyother car that is stopped on the side wanting to park on the side (like at a meter).

        >The mere fact that you justify and rationalize such behavior and that of others that continuously do the same exact thing at that driveway only proves that YOU are part of the problem. Thank you for proving my point 100%, and for SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT that what I showed in the video is accurate

Your dumb video was about frummies driving badly. This case has nothign to do with it. Even non frummies that go to Factors or Nagila park there and do the same thing. This does not reflect anyones lack of driving ability rather in response to a cramped parking with one entrance. You should try to relax more instead of looking for stupid faults at every corner.

        1. LOL! @ “yekke potz”

“most of the time traffic is not being stopped”

Gimme a break. Every time I go eat at Nagila, all I hear is the sound of horns blowing at some rude driver sitting in a frummymobile blocking everyone. The rude drivers are there all the time. Finding material for that “dumb video” was so easy because it is almost a sure guarantee that anytime of day, any day of the week, there is a traffic tie up right exactly where I showed it.

      4. “I didn’t show her face so as not to embarrass her, and she was giving me a dirty look the whole time I filmed that scene”

I don’t know why you think you’re so entitled to film somebody that obviously doesn’t consent to you doing so.

You might have totally violated her personal autonomy, but B”H at least you took precautions against embarrassing her!! Did you at least get the girl at the end’s consent?

I hope these women find this, and that they can get justice over your violation of their personal autonomy.

          1. Given there is no right of privacy in public domain, would you STILL have filmed if they didn’t give consent?

          2. Your question makes no sense. The moment we step foot in public, we grant passive consent. So, there is no concept of “didn’t give consent”.

          3. I am obviously coming from an ethical POV, not a legal one.

Interesting that you say “we grant” I doubt anyone has granted. Its simply that we have no other choice.

          4. Actually counselor, you are wrong about that. There is a legal claim if misappropriation of likeness, which might apply if you were to use this video for commercial gain.

          5. I am not wrong. Izzy, you’re mixing apples with oranges. I am not profiting from the video. If I were to charge money for it, I would obtain a waiver from everyone I filmed. Otherwise, they could sue for their portions in it. Absolutely.

          6. I never said anything about a right to privacy. You were the one that mentioned privacy rights, not the original commenter (who mentioned personal autonomy, so is clearly just confused). Actually though, you are not so far off, as in some states, the claim stems from the common law right of privacy (to be distinguished from the constitutionaly implied right of privacy).

          7. A good argument could be made that you did misapropriate the woman’s likeness for commercial gain, as you use the video (and this blog post) for marketing purposes, directing people to your website. But don’t let the law get in the way of your criticizing other people for misobeying the law.

          8. Nope. That is not a strong argument at all.

First, it is a massive stretch to say any commercial gain directly came from that video. If, however, I went on tour and promoted the tour as the “frummymobile tour” or something like that, then yeah, maybe you could try arguing that indirectly someone in that video participated, blah, blah, blah.

Yet, even still, that wouldn’t win you a case, because one could just as easily make a better counter-argument by saying the video is protected under reporters’ rights, as journalists are not required to gather permission when they film news in the public domain.

And, on that same note, one could argue that this blog is also protected by journalism rights, and Heshy is a journalist, as today’s bloggers fit under that umbrella.

So, now what we have is a news service that featured a piece provided by a journalist who collected info according to the law in the public domain. Ah, but it created a paying audience for myself? So what? Plenty of journalists profit from their work doing the same exact thing.

          9. Right, because you are a journalist. You can add that to your lost of proffesions, counselor.

          10. I’m glad you got the last girl’s consent.

I know that photography and film have a lot of legal protection in public. I would have said “you violated her legal right to privacy” if I thought otherwise. I purposefully didn’t use technical legal jargon because I know what these laws are.

I was giving my personal feelings and ethical beliefs. Most laws have little to do with morality and ethics and more to do with catering to often conflicting public demands for safety and liberty.

She didn’t give *real* consent if she was giving you a dirty look. A dirty look is body language that you were making her upset and uncomfortable. That she didn’t say anything does not mean that she consented.

You wouldn’t like it if somebody filmed you without your permission or knowing for the express purposes of making fun of you. You are trying to express your angst over the disrespect that frum drivers show on the road, but I think it’s hypocritical to demand more respect from people while disrespecting them. I think that filming somebody, or doing anything to them and their bodies, without their approval is a manifestation of the same problem that frum drivers (among tons of other people) have: a misplaced sense of entitlement.

I thought that your idea was funny, and I would have just said something like “lol so true” if that part didn’t poke a raw nerve. Frum drivers (or just people) annoyed me when I was frum, too.

          11. Thank you for your response. My ethics are different than yours. If the woman that gave me a dirty look didn’t want to consent to being filmed, then she should’ve have immediately pulled her frummymobile out of there and driven away.

Instead, as you can see from the video, she elected to sit there for quite a long time (she was there before I started filming and might still be there today) blocking traffic. In doing so, she elected to be filmed in public. So, I would have no ethical issue whatsoever if I were to show her face.

You should be upset with her blocking traffic, not me capturing what she did on film. It’s like when the undercover journalists film wrongdoers. Don’t be mad at the reporters. Instead, be happy about what they filmed. Like with ACORN.

“You wouldn’t like it if somebody filmed you without your permission or knowing for the express purposes of making fun of you.”

I’m not sure why you are saying that to me, because as I stated, I elected not to embarrass her.

“I think it’s hypocritical to demand more respect from people while disrespecting them. I think that filming somebody, or doing anything to them and their bodies, without their approval is a manifestation of the same problem that frum drivers (among tons of other people) have: a misplaced sense of entitlement. ”

That might make a lot more sense had I shown the faces of the drivers.

It was a good thing you decided not to post “lol so true”, because the other readers that commented don’t want to see that.

          12. As a former professional photographer, let me state my working impression of the law.

            1. You can photograph anybody in public. Some people in some situations have a right to some privacy, so for example it is illegal to photograph up a woman’s skirt. Woman have at least this amount of presumptions of privacy. And so on. Or you cant go into a rest room and take pictures. People have a certain right to privacy in certain situations. But otherwise, people in public ha ve no privacy and you may take all the pictures you want.

            2. However, you should get permission to PUBLISH pictures of private people. Private people in newsworthy situations lose this. Celebrities have a different din too.

            Here is a lawyer’s opinion…http://www.krages.com/phoright.htm

          13. Excellent post, Baruch. Thanks for sharing. Between
“Private people in newsworthy situations lose this”, “streets, sidewalks, and public parks”, and “criminal activities”, I think that about covers everything regarding the video.

      5. I know nothing about the situation on the ground there, but from a strictly legal standpoint, if the situation makes the strict application of the law rediculous, and especially if the authorities are sanctioning a lenient application of the law, then a good legal argument/defense can be made for the activity. Counselor.

        1. If the cops actually do look the other way which I’ve never seen them do, then their doing so is a terrible miscarriage of justice, they are negligent on their duties, and that needs to be addressed with their superiors and with city officials.

          1. Cops looking the other way regarding minor traffic/parking violations is “a terrible miscarriage of justice?” Dude you need help, really. No wonder everyone thinks you are negative/bitter.

          1. Nope, I have no internet connection on my samsung.

And you ARE whining. I can’t help that you are whining.

  17. Maybe the individuals in this video only have trouble driving large minivan type vehicles? Vans and SUVs are always hard to maneuver in a tight space and the rear view sucks.

    1. Kiwi,

I think you are right, but why is always a problem only when a woman is behind the wheel? 🙂

    2. My response to that would be if they cannot operate a frummymobile, then they should not drive one. There is no justification nor rationale in the world for operating a motor vehicle that one cannot maneuver. None.

      1. True. It is a risk to the safety of the public as well as the frum Jewish driver and any passengers they have in the car, if they can not control their own vehicle. I’m surprised people have called this anti-semitism. It would be anti-semitic not to bring attention to something like this. Car accidents can kill.

  18. Having flashbacks to post-snowstorm disaster that was the parking lot at 7 Mile Market in Pikesville, MD. The bad driving and worse parking skills are all too true.

  19. If I had a clean-shaven face, long hair, and wore a Metallica t-shirt, none of you would have a problem with me. Let’s face it, no one here can laugh because you are all blinded by your senseless hatred towards any Jew dressed in Chasidishe garb, and that in itself is a form of anti-Semitism. You are a bunch of hypocrites and self-hating Jews!

  20. It amazes me how despite Heshy posting that his dear friend made a hilarious video, some people felt it is perfectly acceptable to trash Heshy’s dear friend, and sh*t all over what Heshy considers hilarious. There are some people here who obviously show no respect towards Heshy.

    1. I now have respect for heshy as I have come to realize that there are “comics” out there who are less funny than he is. Congrats to you “Rabbi,” you have out-lamed the lamest “comic” I have ever encountered.

  21. There was definitely a bitter and cynic overtone to the video. And hatred for ladies. That’s pure racism. And what is mean is encapsulated by this quote from the Wikipaediae lol
Cynicism can manifest itself as a result of frustration, disillusionment, and distrust perceived as due to organizations, authorities and other aspects of society, and thus is roughly equivalent to a substantive form of the English word “jaded”.

    1. To quote Leslie who posted above: “Bitter? Ok, I understand that we all have a different idea of funny, and some people are just too serious to “get” sarcasm and self-deprecating humor. But nothing in this video exhibits intense animosity. The cute lyrics, the catchy tune (which, btw, I can’t get out of my head now!) suggest playfulness, not bitterness. If you don’t have a sense of humor, just say so. But please refrain from using misleading descriptors.”

Also, your racism charge is unfounded and silly. Even if I showed hatred towards women — which I don’t, that would only allow you to make an allegation of misogyny, but not of racism. And, even if my song were racist, so what? Judaism is non-apologetically ethnocentric, so calling Torah followers racist is tantamount to calling them Torah observant.

  22. Dear mr comedian,
When u put out a video like that, it can be taken either 1 of 2 ways, 1 funny or 2 distastefull and angry, it seems like most ppl found it the latter, but what I think most ppl r trying to say is, not that ur not funny, u can have the talent, it just seems from ur work that ur moving away from standup comedy and r using ur airtime for grandstanding ur negative feelings to frum jews, or even jews in general, and the fact that ur wearing the garb, may change ppl’s opinion of u, b/c they don’t expect such harsh feelings to come out of someone to his own ppl, ,, so bottem line , u should focus more on ur humor and not try to use it as a time to rant, even if u have a point, ur deleivery of ur material seems very personal to u and u should be able to disconnect urslef from ur material at the end of the day, so we can know its humor ,,,, anyway I hope u take this as constructive criticism, and just refine ur work

  23. Thank you for your message to me. You are badly mistaken when you falsely claim that most people did not find my video funny. Let me enlighten you. As I explain in my YouTube video “Jews vs Catholics”, there is only one group of people on the planet that don’t find Rabbi Rabbs funny, don’t like anything he does, and wish he would change. That group is the Jews.

What you are seeing in the comments section to Heshy’s blog proves my point. Jews, especially white-skinned Ashkenazi Jews raised in non-Catholic dominated countries, usually have no sense of humor, have too many hangups, and cannot laugh for Rabbi Rabbs. I honestly don’t care, and am not surprised by the negative reactions here. In fact, I did a whole YouTube video recently about Jews, called “Rabbs Receives Hate Mail”, and I encourage everyone to watch that one, too.

Both videos can be found at my YouTube channel by clicking on my name.

Had Heshy posted “Frummymobile” to an audience composed of Goyim, the reactions would be exactly the opposite of what you’re seeing. Everyone would love it. That is exactly what happened when I posted it to my own audience which is primarily non-Jews.

As I explain in “Rabbs Receives Hate Mail”, I don’t perform for Jewish audiences, so I honestly couldn’t care less how much hatred some Ashkie Jews have towards me, so no, I’m not changing my material anytime soon. But, thank you for your suggestion.

Finally, Heshy Fried, the owner of this blog, a rare Ashkie Jew with an actual sense of humor, stated that not only is Frummymobile hilarious, but he posted on Twitter that the song seriously caused him to spit out his latte, and he posted on both my Facebook and Youtube that he laughed his Jewy @ss off.

So, let’s see, on one hand I have a fellow comedian who loves Frummymoible, and on the other hand, there are a few hateful Jews with no sense of humor that couldn’t care less what Heshy thinks. Hmmm, tough call, but gotta go with the dude who likes fennel seeds in his clow slaw.

    1. Rabbi sounds like you hate ashkenazi jews. And why do you think sephardic jews would like your humor any more? I wouldn’t be surprised if the Obama administration made you their spokesman for anti orthodox propaganda.

    2. I’m confused, why doesnt it make you uncomfortable that mostly goyim like your videos? You claim Jews dont have a sense of humor, I assume you dont need me to list you Jewish Comics who are loved by Jews even while making fun of themselves. Perhaps there is another quality in your video/attidude that jews dont find funny, but goyim do?

      1. Additionally, you boast that they laugh before you even say anything, (yep I got curious and watched your youtube video yay I was the 389th viewer) wouldnt that mean that they were laughing at you, the way you are dressed that probably adds to what they find do funny, obviously jews (even those who didnt grow up with the actual garb) wouldnt find someone funny just because hes dressed chasidish.

        1. 1449th viewer of “Un-Orthodox”. Learn to read. No, the Goyim are not laughing at me. They love me. I explain all that in a lengthy video I posted on my web site. I would be happy to send the url to you upon request.

          But, nice try. 😉

          1. Thats not the video I saw, but wow I didnt realize you had that many views, congratulations on your video going viral. Im not sure why Conan has a show and you dont, he barely gets 1400 viewers, you crush that number. Oh maybe its because there are only about 1500 goyim in the world, and we know how its only jews who dont find you funny

          2. Oh look at you with the put downs. Interesting how you have a problem when Rabbs makes fun of Jews but you have no problem making fun of Rabbs who is a Jew. There is a word that comes to mind that describes you that begins with an “h”. What was it? Oh yeah, it’s ‘hypocrite’.

And, you had quoted from Un-Orthodox, so you must’ve watched it, genius.

          3. wrong I have absolutely no problem making fun of jews. I’m making lots of fun of you (the good news is your youtube videos should become more popular.) I just dont find you funny. Of course you can just say i dont find you funny because your dressed chasidish, and i must hate chasidim, or you can claim as a jew i dont have a sense of humor, whichever makes you sleep better. I had seen jew vs, catholics, but im on my way to watch un-orthodox right now. (im very excited) who knows hopefully we’ll be able to break the 2000 mark

          4. “you boast that they laugh before you even say anything”

That is directly lifted from Un-Orthodox. You already watched it, and now you’re laughing at me because you’re on your way to watch it. I think you need to laugh at yourself, mister, because you don’t even remember what you’ve watched.

I see that you switched from John to Anonymous and back to John, so you don’t even remember what your name is.

Maybe you need me to remind you which planet you are living on?

          5. nope my dear freind I just saw unorthodox and i loved it!!! youre the one who needs to be reminded what planet their on, you cant even remember your own videos. maybe you repeat the same jokes in many of your videos (another mark of a great comic btw)
Sorry for forgetting to type in my name that one time, i hope we can still be friends

          6. Thank you for watching Un-Orthodox and for your positive feedback on it. I appreciate that, and I’m glad you loved it.

You made me curious as to what you heard, so I just watched Jews vs Catholics, and what I had said over there is that Catholics laugh for me even when I’m not trying to be funny. That’s different than laughing for me before I even said anything.

What’s interesting to me is that you misquoted Jews vs Catholics with something that is actually true that I had reported in another video. Kind of scary actually how you knew that. But then again, I’m kind of famous as the first rabbi comedian, so it’s possible that someone once mentioned that a crowd was laughing before the rabbi comic said anything, and that stuck in your mind. I don’t know.

We can still be friends. 🙂

      2. You missed it. “you dont need me to list you Jewish Comics who are loved by Jews”. Of course Ashkies love the Jewish comics who marry shigzas, that’s not news. But that’s irrelevant. It’s the fact that I’m a rabbi, frum, and dress frummier than you do that pisses Jews off.

    3. Although he calls your video hilarious, in that same line heshy does acknowledge that it is negative “The video is negative but, I personally found it hilarious “

    4. Rabbi Barbaaba,

Its not that YOU are not funny, its that this video was not funny. It was lame. No effort even to be funny. Im not saying I was offended by it, but it was just dumb. Most of it had nothing to do with ‘driving ability’, but more of you yekking it up about waiting to enter a parking lot.

        1. Why name calling.

I like Barbaaba. I grew up on that cartoon.

Besides, I don’t see how someone that mocks others all of a sudden has issues with name calling.

  24. I never stated that I hate Ashkenazi Jews. Learn to read.

Thanks for your question. The answer is complex, and I explain it at great length in a serious video that I posted on my web site, but this stupid blog program here won’t let me post links. If you write to me offline, I will be happy to send you the URL. It’s a long video, and took me close to 10 minutes to explain it, so I can’t do it justice by writing it here. You’ll need to watch.

As for anti-frum propaganda, I think the Obama administration would be better served choosing from one of the anti-Rabbs haters, because Rabbs is identifiably and non -apologetically frum, and anyone that hates Rabbs hates frumkeit. Again, Goyim love Rabbs. They have no problem with frummies. The ONLY people that hate frummies are Jews.

  25. The fact that u keep checking ppl’s responses, shows that ur looking for feedback from those “humorless jews”, the fact that ur wearing the chasidic garb and practice judaisim , doesn’t mean ppl who criticize ur work hate jews, and btw , when u say that a bunch of goyim laugh at a jew making fun of other jews proves that its funny I think is no chidush, and I think u should look at the likes of mel brooks who were succesfull in hollywood, who btw, would place his jew jokes sparingly and not angry but cute

    1. The fact that you keep responding to me shows that you are obsessed with Rabbi Rabbs. I challenge you to stay away. I am sure it will be a difficult fight for you to not reply to this. Can you do it?

You know what I think? I think you drive a frummymobile and make left turns while holding a frickin’ cell phone, and you think you are G-d’s gift to the world, and that the rules don’t apply to you, and you got away with your rudeness for years until Rabbi Rabbs came along and shined a spotlight on your ways. 😉

  26. >I think you drive a frummymobile and make left turns while holding a frickin’ cell phone, and you think you are G-d’s gift to the world, and that the rules don’t apply to you,

But see, thats the point. This has nothign to do with frum people thinking they are God’s gift to the world. I see stuff like this EVERYWHERE in LA.
Mostly by women that are in their own little world while driving 😀

  27. First, a note to the blog editor – the comments displayed on the web page go up to #128, but comments that are emailed to me go up to Mon, May 10, 2010 at 12:04 AM. That is, the latest comments are not yet displayed. so it is hard to respond.

Now a comment to Rabbi Rabbs. You are almost funny. But you are not yet one of the greats, my favorite is George Carlin. Not just the seven dirty words, but his hippie dippie weatherman. Tonight’s forcast: dark. staying mostly dark tonight, changing to partly light in the morning. Hihihi.

Being a comic is tough. No doubt. Good luch with that. Maybe a few jokes about Hebrew School, like Carlin did with Catholic school. Maybe a few jabs at rabbis who are, well, you know. Maybe the whole halachic structure. I am thinking of if Jews had chrismas trees. The mishnios, the gemmora trachtate Trees. The halachas of decorations. How the tree would be possul if the top tip is cut off. The goyim wouldnt get it.

    1. “Now a comment to Rabbi Rabbs. You are almost funny. But you are not yet one of the greats”

Funny, because Muhammed Ali calls himself the Rabbi Rabbs of boxing, and Wayne Gretzkey calls himself the Rabbi Rabbs of hockey.

  28. Rabbi Rabbs is a comedian. Like any other artist comedians appeal to some and some don’t like them. To those of you that don’t like or approve of his material, has it occured to you that all of this mishigas about his video is just giving him more material and supporting some of the things he says about the idiosyncrasies of our community. Someone mentioned Mel Brooks…that’s Mel Brooks’ style. What’s one thing that has kept us Jews going through the ages? THE ABILITY TO LAUGH AT OURSELVES! If you’re so frum, then why are you reading blogs on a site entitled “Frum Satire,” watching Youtube and responding to a comedian’s act? There are so many issues within the Jewish world way more important than worrying about a Rabbi who has ventured “out of the box.” Allow Rabbi Rabbs to be Rabbi Rabbs…don’t you think it’s possible this is what G-D wants?

  29. Hi Rabbi Rabbs, Pastor Rastor here.
I too am a comic. Although I’m not really funny I run aroumd in my frock and collar and that seems to get people to laugh especially when I make d1ck jokes, After all whats better than a clergy-man making d1ck jokes, but you dont need me to tell you that. When intelligent people point out that I’m not actually funny, i accuse them of not having a sense of humor, or not “getting” me, or sometimes I just accuse them of being anti-christian (usually very angrily, I dont handle critiscm well). Anyway I heard about you from my friend Imam Timam and I was wondering if you’d be interested in going on tour with us.
    Thanks keep in touch

      1. Of course you dont, Its not meant for you, you stupid anti-chritistian. You have no sense of humor!! and you dont get me!!
I rewspond to you in my youtube video go check it out
        you ignorant moron.

    1. You’re obviously obsessed with me, so make a video of yourself doing your best Rabbs impression, send it to me, and if it’s any good, I’d love to use it for an upcoming video.

      1. I replied, but I guess my comment is awaiting moderation. It included my best impression of you uploaded on youtube. I hope you like it.
        Imam Timam sends his best

          1. Oh it is, and dont worry I did (though to be honest they all think i’m nuts, none of them get you like I do, oh well what do you expect of jews, and of course you respond to them in video)
I hope you can post my impression of you, i think its spot on, dont feel bad that it has several times the amount of viewers as all your videos combined, youtube is dominated by jews who we know dont get you

          2. done, no need to rub it in. Im very obsessed with you. More videos please!!

  30. I don’t to @ signs, so…
    To Pastor Rastor
I think, when you are ironic or sarcastic on the internet, you should put a or tag in the post. Otherwise, no one will know.
Around the Atta house, everyone knows that Dad Atta has a very dry wit. That means that if he says something really stupid, idiotic or weird, it is meant to be funny.
OTOH, if I want to be insulting, i will just say something obvious. You moron.
Too bad there is no such thing as a or tag.
    It helps to know HTML.

    1. I disagree, the beauty ofsatire is the tongue- in-cheekness that it entails, If someone says I’m being sarcastic/ironic it really removes some of the punch that the comment or post may pack. For those that get it, great! for those that don’t, ok no loss.
Like Heshy posting this video, i’m fairly certain he is making fun of this “Rabbi” if he posted it as “lookat this Rabbi who thinks he’s a comic,” well that would’nt be nearly as funny as it is now …pure dry satire
      Great post Hesh!!

      1. It amazes me that people are still in denial that Heshy actually loves the video and thinks it’s hilarious. I guess his comment right there under the video itself on my youtube page isn’t enough proof.

        1. Ah satire at its best, I love you too Rabbi, keep those videos coming!!!
Frum satire, great find I love this guy!!

      2. I remember when the Internet was young…the New Yorker had a cartoon with a dog at a keyboard, talking to another dog in the room, saying “On the Internet, they don’t know you’re a dog”.
The same goes for an ironist or a wittist. On the Internet, they don’t know you are not really serious.
In any case, you are always allowed to be vague and mis-interpreted. It’s a free country. It’s your right.
But if you want to be understood, be clear.
And that’s why Frumies drive like idiots drive. Idiots. Drive.
Actually, i think that idiots, real idiots, are not allowed to drive a car. Only Frumies are. (smile)

  32. P.S. just this morning I was down in Pico-Robertson picking up breakfast. As I was leaving my parking space on Pico, this mini-van made not one but two U-turns in about five seconds. Essentially, HE was driving in circles on Pico!! Yes, he was frum!!
