The most diverse yeshiva in Israel

Apparently Pardes is not just a coed yeshiva in Israel, but an Indian Film from 1997 as well

This is a paid advertisement:

You thought YCT was open, well Pardes takes openness from a yeshiva perspective and blows every other program out of the water in this department. First off, its coed, I wish I knew about this when I went to do some yeshiva study in Israel, coed yeshiva would have erased the need to go binge drinking on Ben Yehuda (I never did this, but I contemplated it)

“Much more than a co-ed Yeshiva, Pardes in Jerusalem offers a variety of educational Israel programs for college and post-college young people interested in Beit Midrash study in an open environment. We welcome students of all Jewish backgrounds and belief systems, including Jews who are unaffiliated, Reconstructionist, Reform, Conservative, Orthodox and post-denominational.”

Sounds good to me, I wish there were more programs that offered studying opportunities for those who wanted to learn more about their fellow Jews, its kind of like going to college – except in this situation you are learning various Torah subjects.

So if your looking for a more open environment made up of multiple types of Jews, check out Pardes and their range of summer program and year round academic offerings.

  1. Four men entered Pardes: Ben Azzai, Ben Zoma, Acher and Akiba. Ben Azzai looked and died; Ben Zoma looked and went mad; Acher destroyed the plants; Akiba entered in peace and departed in peace.

  2. I serioussly think, you arer choite umachte es harabim.
Dialogue is cool, and even healthy (in a spiritual way) for us to attain a better understanding of our faith. But to advertise it (albiet being paid) is a stretch you might want to reflect upon, with any moral leader you think has the proper perspective of Judism. You DO consider yourself frum.

  3. As much as I believe in coed education, I really don’t believe in coed religious education. I get that some like to have it so it’s good the place exists, but I stifle a laugh when people reccomend it to me. If anything, I’m probbly the last guy they want within a hundred feet of the place, and in general, I wouldn’t reccomend it to anyone I know, especially as it is a super liberal frum place, it probbly wouldn’t be fit for anyone else except to confuse them.

  4. isnt the point of yeshiva or seminary to learn and grow? wouldnt it be destracting and take away from the learning if it is coed? this just seems like another excuse to get ppl away from judiasm.

on the other hand, it could attract ppl. who would other wise not go to any kind of yeshiva.

  5. Pardes if for adults, not some kids sent away to Israel for the year in some crazy attempt to “mature.”

The student body is mixed according to observance, but they’re mature and serious. And the teachers are MO.

Hesh, you may actually like it. (the Hesh of today, not the kid who spent time in Israel a few years ago) I have a good friend who teaches there.

  6. When did “go kill yourself” become an acceptable and witty comeback? Anyway, this yeshiva sounds awesome XD
