If you search “Heshy Fried” in google you get 1700 results, and yes I have googled every single girl or potential shidduch date – its quite interesting what you can find. Take a look at google images and its even better. The following video is titled “I google myself” as I am sure many of you have.

cracking up – i actually have 1710 results….10 more than you Hesh!
thanks for the smile!
My full name is too common, pointless to google. My “stage name” gets too many wrong hits. I google titles of my works sometimes since those have (mostly) unique names.
I unfortunately share a similar name to a horror/”blue” film star (Kristin Baker – and I was just Baker before I got married). I get a lot of hits through analytics for her, too – so half of my 7k results are basically for people looking for a late 70s porn actress. I guess it says something nice and wholesome about my parents that they didn’t know they were naming their child very similarly to an adult film star. Growing up, I knew a kid called Paul Newman – guess he takes the cake for results.
As with Chris, the two options for my real name get too many wrong results. (I actually took my mother’s maiden name…) There are 100 on the nose Facebook results for my name. There are over 500 for my name with my father’s last name that I grew up with.
Michal bas Avraham brought up my blog, my Facebook or friend lists of my friends, some comments I’ve put up on blogs and such, mostly here. There were some weird results, not too many, total results: 643.
I am not even the first for my name just searching facebook… I prefer anonymity, though…
thats mirian from miriam and shoshana
My name only pulls up 23 results – 6 of them actually apply to me. Even though I have a very rare last name and even rarer first & last name combination, there are two others with the same name. One of them is getting married soon so 17 of the results are about her and her wedding.
Heshy,
Do you actually get hits on the girls or shidduch dates? Virtually all of my hits (about 1000) are either for my work, or the other person in the world who shares the same name at his work. I have maybe one or two hits due to synagogue or other personal activities. I would think that any hits on a shidduch date would be from her grandparent’s obit or some tzedekah project she pursued.
Google searches 1/5 of the internet with a search. It’s far from comprehensive.
Yeah, both my Hebrew and English names are just such common Jewish names that I’d get hits through the stratosphere on both. In my case, I’ve found some interesting other people with the same name as me. I’ve known for years that I have the same name as DJ from Rosanne, but then I found that (a) our middle names are different and (b) he’s actually Mexican, but was adopted by a Jewish family named Fishman.
My name pulls up 307,000 results. I started watching the video but there was music in it and as frum jews we dont listen to music during sefira. I assume our am-ha’aretz-in residence holds of second sefira and doesn’t listen to music beginning rosh chodesh (i assume you know when that is also because you were probably in shul this past shabbos when they announced it).
Googling, as I like to say, is a perfectly healthy form of self expression.
My name “Rob Abdul” for the last 3 years has been my brand name.
Google shows 3600000result for my name, I’m No.1!
I was so proud when my name appeared in Goggle’s suggestive list.
It may not sound like much but at least 60 to 80 people goggle me a month.
It is nice for the Ego, I must admit!
