Do frum people use pick-up lines?

I myself have never used a “pickup” line, its just not my style, besides I would feel like an idiot and pick up lines should only be used by pimps, anyone else who uses them look like morons, at least in my opinions, but hey I don’t have the balls to throw out pick up lines.

I am curious to know if any of the frum folks in the audience use or have ever used pick up lines? I am also curious to see what pick up lines other folks have used.

For Pesach I figured some of these may do:

I’d rather eat you than the afikoman

Forget karpas I got something else to dip

What do you get when you take chametz out of chametzdik?

I’d like to break you in half like the afikoman

  1. I’d like to break you in half like the afikoman – I think that’s more for the threatening Jew-gangsters than a pickup line.

  2. When you hear the volume of voices and movement… casually say, tickle your ass with a feather. When they say excuse me, say, particurlarly nice weather?

  3. Do you want something to attone for on yom kippur?

Do you want to shake my luluv?

You must not be kosher for passover because you’re makeing my matza rise

Do you want to spin my dreidel?

Got any Jewish in you? . . . Want some?

  4. this is what i have noticed…
Michal bas Avraham… MUST always pick on something or someone.. wow… i cant believe someone can be so insistant about it..post after post…
    GAP syndrome?

  5. A: don’t listen to michal. i thought your pickup lines were hilarious and original. love the matza one.

  6. How’s about these:
You want to blow my shofar
I can turn your water into blood
It only takes me 18 minutes thats why they call me “Matza Man” baby
You can eat my shank bone
I can split your red sea
If you liked the plague of the wild beast wait till we get to the bedroom baby

  7. Oy! LOL!

I must admit I have heard, “You’ll never believe where I hid the afikoman.” I was at a cousin’s seder about 6 years ago and that one got tried on me.

    :X

I like A’s Yom Kippur atonement one best. Hmmm…that’s coming up again this year…better get busy.

  8. These have actually be used on me…

“Hey babe…what’s YOUR Dor Yesharim number?”
“Are you a mishubeirach? Because you just gave my neshama an aliyah!”

    And my personal favorite…
“Shall we shteig now, or shteig later?”

  9. Wanna kiss my mezuza?

wanna see me put on tefillin tomorrow morning?

Best pick up line i ever used was this one:

I went to Stern tovisit my sister, after getting off the van, some girl waiting for her blind/shidduch date approached me and said, “um, are you shalom?” and i said, “no, but i could be…”

  10. KP,
If people weren’t so stupid, Heshy wouldn’t have a blog. In fact, he (and male commenter you all laugh with) say(s) a lot of the same things I say. I guess I’m not allowed because I’m a female… that’s what I think.

    Bsamin,

    “Oh, my” LOL

And again to Leeba and Chana…

    The Law,
good but, it would have been better if she was looking for Simcha… “I could be Simcha… if you make me happy.”

  11. Michal:
Since you think or atleast imply that stupid people r the motivating and sustaining factor of this blog, should your constant presence here only re instate the obvious…?
i wont say i dislike your comments cause you are a girl, its just the light you present them in is mostly quite didactic, contary to the spirit of this blog.. thats all
    if i offended you.. i apologise…peace:-)

  12. michal – it would have been? it was a real story, thats what really happened. i cant change the facts…

  13. KP,
Let’s review, tickling yourself with a feather and then asking about the weather does not fit the post and the other responses very well. The idea is to come up with on your own or reiterate cute, clever or even cheesy pick up lines you may have heard. Furthermore, the “pick up” if you will, in her response was in the action, tickling of the area. The subject is pick up LINES. So, I said, “huh?” of sorts. I’m also wondering what, “When you hear the volume of voices and movement…” would have to do with pick up lines. I guess this makes sense to you so you can explain it to me.

    The Law,
I’m aware, it was good enough as is. I suppose that was my attempt to offer a cheesy pick up line- to tweak yours. The pick up lines men try on me are not cute, clever or cheesy, they are pathetic. I had an Israeli try to tutor me in Hebrew.

    Anon,
    I’ve heard chodesh tov.

    Veebee,
    See, I knew it.

  14. Yo WSR(west side representin)check it out.I use this line on some of my African Americans Sistas.

Hey sista if a suck them ta tas will chocolate milk come out

  15. Yo WSR(west side representin)check it out.I use this line on some of my African Americans Sistas.

Hey sista if I suck them ta tas will chocolate milk come out

  16. Rememba when a Black man says sista he dont mean his sista he mean any African American female.See we just call them sistas cause who know who anyone fatha is anyway(just kiddin)

  17. Who knows, maybe this soul brotha guy is just another one of us crackers farting up a laugh for himself in the comments.

Hey, my jokes are cheesy so, I must be a cheez-it rather than a saltine which lacks the flavor…

  18. Sergeant J,
It’s not a line. It’s just rubbing your back and asking about the weather. That’s retarded. The examples most everyone else gave were clever and witty and made sense as pick up lines. For that you might as well just use Jazz from Fresh Prince’s line (Soul brotha will love this…) “Let’s go have some fried chicken and get busy.”

  19. Hesh with all due respect I think the would fall under the catergory of sexual harassment/assult. So unless you want some big guy doing the same thing to you in prison(while calling you Betty( and he might even force you to wear a shietal))I would not suggest that.

  20. That’s a combined line/action but, clever. I would smack someone if they did that to me. I threw a fist into a little Mexican with hands in Brownville one time. He ran for the border, too.

  21. Michal!! He did not grab you because he was Mexican, where he might be from is irrelevant to your point, unless your point is that you are ethnically prejudiced..

  22. “Hey Baby, are you shomer shabbas? Because you’re turning me on.”

I’m sorry, but I really am not getting this one. Is the person saying the pick-up line asking *because* the ‘girl’ is turning him on as opposed to observing shabbos and not turning anything on or off? oy. Sorry to be so .. well, confused.

  23. He wants to ascertain the level of frumkiet for the maidle in question. He has no interest in anything other than an aidle maidle.

What makes it super clever is that Shabbas is the most likely time to be around maidle aidles, and therefore there is a chance for a double take “Wait, I’m doing melacha – no, wait, you’re hitting on me, and it’s kindof clever.”

    Oneg Shabbas ensues.

  24. Thank you for clearing that up.

I think I might be an aidle maidle as I might pause for a second before I realised someone was hitting on me with that one. 🙂

  25. With a big glass of wine in me and with someone I felt comfy with (and was attracted to) I might.

    But then again, that’s me.

    🙂

  26. Jelen, if you have read any of her posts, you’d know that she seldom goes after individuals, and seems to stereotype everything and everyone.

  27. Often, for lack of something to add, people will simply speak without thinking.

I feel that if someone does not like the content of a particular blog, then they should not visit that blog. It really is quite simple. Click.

I might be offended at something that others find amusing. That is fair. However, I do not cause havoc in that blog. Instead, I simply do not re-visit.

This is not actually directed at anyone in particular. Simply to those who visit blogs with content they don’t feel comfortable with and then begin kvetching about it.

  28. @ipity
i have that one written on my boxers…best thing i ever bought in an israeli souvenir shop! thats right israeli souvenir!
