Someone sent this to me a while ago, and I could never figure out how to take a PDF file and throw it in here. I hope this works. It was a file containing the Yeshiva University newspaper which had an ad for birth control at the top. Kind of odd don’t you think.

They’re modern, what do you want?
That’s nothing, I swear, on Vosisneis last week, one of the ads were for the enlargement of the male member. I was laughing so hard, it was right beneath their ad for money for the Rabbi with 11 kids who got killed in Mumbai.
Thats awesome – penis enlargement on a charedi site huh?
interesting stuff – if there is a demand, there will be a supplier.
but what’s with your internet explorer? and with lame tool bars? come ooooon!
That’s why Google Adsense has and ad filter, I imagine may of the better programs have them too.
Would be funny to see the penis enlargement ad on an article about bris milah.
The answer is very simple. Many young ladies go “on the pill” before their wedding to cycle so they are not a niddah for their wedding night.
“Reliable birth control – Predictable periods.”
You know, it’s actually really common in much of the US to use birth control for that reason alone. I knew one person who had to take it, otherwise they had a serious problem with ovarian cysts.
Besides, plenty of modern people probably use it for reasons that might not include promiscuous sex.
L2ff. Seriously, who uses a browser that the creator says is crap?
“Reliable Birth Control – Predictable Periods”
Outside of the frummer velt, it’s actually pretty common for people to use birth control pills as period control pills. I actually knew one girl who had to use them because of a problem with ovarian cysts.
Besides, the modern sector is more tolerant of them in general.
You realize they don’t actually control which ads appear on their page? The Observer is hosted on a college newspaper network, which hosts many other schools’ papers. The ads are automatically generated. It would be weird if the ad appeared in the print edition of the Observer, but online is not a big deal. Besides, many women use birth control for reasons other than to prevent pregnancy.
That’s pretty unacceptable to me; I’ll assuem that it was a random advertisement that just floated their way before I make any judgments.
There are a lot more frum women who are on birth control meds than most people would ever know about.
Here’s a few reasons;
1. helps them regulate their periods if there are current problems with that. 2. helps with the emotional roller coasters many women go through when they get their period. 3. She may have a health problem which would be detrimental to her health if she were to get pregnant.
There are many other factors.
Or they want to help the parents of horny teens to not have to deal with the embarrassment of a pregnant 15 year old. lol
I don’t see the big deal. I mean if you are “modern” enough to have internet, then maybe they assume those people can handle such an ad.
Or whatever.
I can handle it, almost every girl I have dated in the last few years was on Birth Control to regulate cramps and periods – I did always wonder how they would react when it was time to have kids, or if they were addicted to the things.
At least it wasn’t an ad for the morning after pill RU486
I think the hope is once they start having kids the hormones learn the regulate themselves…
Of course they’re kosher. They’re ORTHO pills!
Sometimes those banner adds really amuse me. I once saw an article about a kid that fell out of a window and died, with a huge banner add across the top that said “A Buttery Mound of Mash Potatoes”, which I found EXTREMELY amusing.
Birth control pills do have one serious side effect: They make the body think that it is pregnant, and therefore the body thinks it needs to take a break.
This means: IT MAY BE HARD TO GET PREGNANT RIGHT AFTER STOPPING THE PILL
Druggie,
That’s a myth. They say it less than a month for the hormones to be out of the system. I know people that got pregnant on the pill, one even did with an IUD. Nothing is 100% except for abstinence or shelo kedarka.
Phil, he is a future, so he may know what he’s talking about lol
^future druggie^ i meant to say
I just sent you a jpeg of the pdf at your gmail address
I don’t get it. What’s wrong with birth control pills? I’m sure it’s pretty easy to get a heter for them nowadays. Not everyone can cope with a kid a year, or a baker’s dozen.
the million dollar question is, HOW and or WHY do you know that “almost every girl I have dated in the last few years was on Birth Control to regulate cramps and periods”?!?
“the morning after pill RU486”
I hope that was a typo or there may be some major headdesking. Seriously though, most birth control ads are ridiculous. Sex and pregnancy are rarely actually mentioned. They’re mostly advertised as a way to regulate periods and help with PMS symptoms.

Believe it or not, you can get pregnant with shelo kedarka. There is something called splashback, where semen drips on the vulva.
Biggest fish,
I think that’s another urban legend. The chances of that happening are about as likely as getting pregnant from a toilet seat.
Phil- when was the last time you had sex with a toilet seat?
Phil- when was the last time you had s ex with a toilet seat?
Hey Phil. Think you can’t get pregnant from anal sex? It may be unlikely, but it is possible. After all, it only needs to happen once.
Here’s a quote from google:
”
Q: Is it possible to become pregnant after anal sex? Is there any way I can prevent this? I’m in a relationship I know is monogamous and don’t have to worry about disease and do not need a condom.
A:
We’re glad you asked, because too many people think anal sex is a safe way to avoid pregnancy. Sperm are incredibly vigorous swimmers, and if any leak out of the rectum they could swim through moist genital tissues, enter the vagina and result in pregnancy. It may not happen often, but once is all it takes.
Whoever wrote that answer was definitely no fertily doctor.
Phil- What makes you think you are an expert on fertility. Do you think shtupping your wife in the ass or listening to your friends talk about pregnancy makes you an expert!?!
Biggest Fish (love that name, should have thought of it myself),
Bum shtuping was used as a method of birth control in some societies. Without a doubt, it is more effective than the pill, foams, condoms sponges, and even IUD’s. I know cases of women getting pregnant while using each of these, None claim to be 100% effective, they vary from 96-99%. When you break that down, if a fertile couple shutps 100 times while using one of those methods, they are likely to get pregnant. Some may take 6 months to reach 100 shtups, some 2 years, inevitably, they will reach the one time the method fails.
I never heard of anyone getting pregnant from shelo kedarka. I’m far from an expert, nor a doctor, though the law of averages clearly shows that it is a more reliable method than what most doctors perscribe today. You can’t argue with numbers.
Yeah, I guess your right. It is less likely to get pregnant through anal sex than through other methods, but I think it is far more likely than the toilet seat method. Thanks for the name compliment. Catch a big one.
I usually do. Just beat my personal best for carp on the first trip of the season last week. Fish measured 40 x 25 inches, weighed 32.5 lbs.
Should have the pics in a couple days.
Phil, this is modern medicine talking.
Anal sex can lead to pregnancy.
There are two ways.
1. You miss. Penis-vagina sex is necessary for the evolutionary success of homo sapiens, and trying to avoid it isn’t easy. Especially if you don’t know your way around them nether regions.
2. Drip. Seriously. Semen drips out of the anus and into the vagina. “Now wait, modern medicine, I know that sperm has to reach the egg to make a baby! That couldn’t possibly work!”
Well, it just so happens that the vagina is the perfect place for sperm to live. They get in, and start swimming. Sometimes they make it, especially if the woman is young and super-fertile, as young women are wont to be.
I see this as a PSA to people who might otherwise consider lo kedarcho as their only form of birth control. It won’t work.
PS Those near 100% rates given for various methods include patient non-compliance. That is, they test them by giving them to couples okay with having children sometime, and don’t ask them if they follow the instructions perfectly. Using products the right way (And it is harder than you might think) is very reliable. We have figured out how to prevent pregnancy.
We haven’t figured out how to facilitate pregnancy, sadly. It’s much more difficult.
Modern medicine,
Like I previously said, i know people that got pregnant using those methods. How can a women not use an IUD properly?
I’m not a statistician or actuary nor have I seen data on figures of Anal sex as a borth control method, so I obviously can’t say for sure, but my hunch is that it is more reliable.
forgive me for being too frum, (ya can’t be too frum on a website called “Frum” Satire), but what happened to the issur of lashon hara? this is exacty what caused the churban beis hamikdash. every word of lashon hara, we throw more oil on the fire. with a website like this, i’m almost positive that moshiach won’t come until this website is shut down. but, whatever. if you want to burn hashem’s house down, i’m not going to stop you. hillel omer, hevai mitalmidav shel aharon, ohev shalom verodef shalom. you guys aren’t.
ohev shalom:
1) How exactly are you pursuing shalom with a comment like that?!? If anything, you are the one who needs lessons from Aharon.
2) Where is the lashon hora in this article? Open up a sefer and learn what lashon hora is first.
3) If talking about sexual topics is offensive to you, you do not have to read Frum Satire. You may supposedly remain chaste in your thoughts, but you will still have to get married one day. (A word of advice: Marry a naive Bais Yaakov girl.)
