According to CNN, minorities won’t have that status by the year 2050, I for one am looking forward to that day, for a variety of reasons.
First of all, we white people can finally take advantage of affirmative action, and I don’t mean that shtick your friend from South Africa wrote on her college application about being “African American” I mean by writing white you will be considered a minority at major schools and jobs, not just at organizations like the NAACP and Howard University.
I can’t wait till there are stories in the paper about Denny’s workers refusing to serve white people at their restaurants.
I also can’t wait for race riots whitey style. I wonder will they burn down the golf courses or mansions in Westchester.
What about minority music, will the media start to write evil things about country and bluegrass music similar to the way they fought against gangsta-rap of the early 90s, most notably against the cop killer song.
I wonder if as white people we will ever feel what black people feel in terms of recognizing our differences and the way people treat us. I hear that the only way for white folks to ever realize how weird it is to be odd looking is when you go to Asian countries (the slanty eye variety) and realize that you look completely different then everyone.
Hmm…what other perks could we white folk enjoy when we reach minority status?
As minorities we’ll finally be able to get WET (White Entertainment Television)!!

The whites in South Africa are a tiny minority but they aren’t exactly the victims of discrimination. They are in the ones with money so they will probably always be resented for this. I am not from SA so if that is wrong please correct me.

dude, just because non-Latino whites won’t be the majority doesn’t mean they will be a minority group. In 2050, if fertility , mortality and immigration projections are correct, non-Latino whites will no longer make up over 50% of the US population. However, they will STILL make up the largest single racial group in the United States. It’ll just be 48% or something, while the other 50something percent will be split into Latinos (which is now the largest minority group), Blacks, Asians, and Native Americans.

It makes no sense whatsoever, but black people will always get minority status because so many of them are poor.
Whenever I hear people ask “Are Jews white?” and then hear politically correct liberal people chime in “You know, there are black Jews and Asian Jews as well,” I think to myself that it’s pretty stupid for an ancient people (the Jews) to be identified by a modern classification system.

As a Canadian I’m not particularily worried about blacks taking over the county. In some provinces Asians (Chinese, Indian) are already the majority in certain cities in BC and Ontario. Most are peacful and hard working people, good for our economy.

My wife is an American citizen born in South Africa (she’s white and Jewish). Doesn’t this make her more of an “African American” than Obama or any other Jamaicans living in the US? When my (white) South African mother in law tried to join the NAACP just to see what happens, they sent her home.
What about my dad born in North Africa, living in Montreal? Is he a “Canadian African”?

Regardless of who is the real minority, many New York City government agencies give special preference to African Americans (not Jewish ones) in their hiring practices.
I know of numerous stories of Jewish people who faced discrimination in government agencies, including (but not limited to) several New York City public schools.

Then again you may take the other stance and say the Jews went through thousands of years of mistreatment and so on.

At least we will be able to use Affirmative Action, because in my opinion affirmative action creates racism towards white males. If a white male has better qualifications then the black man looking for a job, the black will get it. I don’t think the rest of us white people should be held accountable for slavery. If whites become the minority we can start having all white groups that only fight and help out whites, just like the racist NAACP does for the blacks. Since blacks don’t think the NAACP is racist, but they complain when there is white groups designed to help out other whites.
Also about the music comment someone made about talking bad about rap music, there is good reason to it. All they do is call women hoes and other black people niggers. Did you ever stop to think that maybe blacks today have genes from all races because they keep breeding with everything else. Most people that are obviously white are not mixed because they don’t breed with every race that walks the earth. Though that is changing now, and that is why white culture is eroding away. We did have a culture before blacks started telling us that we cannot be proud of our heritage or of what we are. We are told daily that we should be ashamed of ourselves for what our ancestors did. WELL I AM NOT! I am proud of being white and of who I am. I will make that known as long as I live. I hope that my children remember to be proud of theirselves and their culture when they are grown because they are going to have it tougher than we do now.
