At my brothers engagement party, the hostess told me that she became friends with this other random fan of mine whom she met through my blog, it was the first time that I realized (other than the one shidduch that miraculously happened from some folks arguing in the comments)that people who were involved with Frum Satire in one way or another, were becoming involved with each other. I’m not only talking about folks hooking up and dating which has been happening as well, I am talking about regular folks, chatting, meeting for coffee and becoming online friends with each other and I feel totally awesome at this realization.
Every once in a while I notice that fans of mine who had obviously never met in person are having discussions with each on facebook and actually friends, I keep noticing this and I find it super cool that there is this whole Frum Satire underground – I wonder if anyone is ever asked how they met and they respond that we “met on Frum Satire” – than I’d be shepping mad nachas.
As others have mentioned before, it would be awesome if you had some sort of social network section on this blog. Not something very big, facebook is there for that, just something with commentor’s profiles and a chat area separate from the blog comments.

There was a facebook group that was used for a while earlier this year, and that worked fine.
I met one of my fave buddies when I totally took her side in an oddball Facebook comment fight on your profile. In fact, you are one of the reasons why I met Abandoning Eden and occasionally chat with Tova.
He was talking about us. (My DH and I hosted the party in question.)
I’ve also met friends through your FB comments. One who I now talk to multiple times a day. Thanks Heshy, for making me friends! Yes, I am trying to sound as dorky as possible. Yes I am actually that dorky despite the effort.
Moty and I met each other and it took us a good 30 minutes to realize it.

I have a couple of good friends that I found on Frum Satire–people without whom my life would not be as rich. Not to mention the fact that I now have a new source for awesome kosher wine at half the price thanks to you! I bought two cases of that moscato, and it’s even better than the Bartenura in the blue bottle. The next time you’re in southwest Ohio (or Southeast Indiana or Northern Kentucky–I can’t afford to go farther than that with the cost of gas, sorry), I owe you dinner and a bottle of wine.

Righteous Rasha, if you are reading this, we became friends through Frum Satire’s forum. It all started with our discussion of music. Then, realizing we are both rebellious born-again Dead-heads, we started talking IRL. Though we are separated by a space barrier (I in NY, she in Deetroit), she is now a good friend of mine.

Indeed. I also decided that if it did go through, instead of a sermon at our wedding, we’d have Heshy do stand-up! This would be a sermon no one would forget (or fall asleep for). Tova also decided that instead of a typical Jewish wedding band, we’d have an R&B singer (I wanted a bluegrass band…).
But yeah, better we remain just friends. Even if this didn’t end up being bashert, I thank FS for introducing me to one of the few people in this world who I think truly appreciates my taste in music (NB: if I chose friends based on taste in music, I wouldn’t have very many friends).

I actually met an attractive (semi-shomer negiah) girl at my brothers wedding in Prime Palace (Jerusalem) who reads this website and since she is an english lit major, she likes to point out grammer and spelling errors. She may even see this and correct it too lol.
