Purim Shpiels I like

Purim Shpiels are a dime a dozen, and most of them suck, I happened to like the following one – click the more tag to see one of my favorite Purim Shpiels on You Tube.

If you have found any interesting purim shpiels you think I should see – send em to frumsatire@gmail.com

  1. I am admittedly very easily amused, by I particularly enjoyed a skit Kesher Israel (in Georgetown) did last night in which they combined an iPhone commercial with the Leib Tropper scandal.

    “If you want to convert to Judaism, there’s an app for that. … If you want to then post those recordings on Youtube and cause a huge scandal in the community, there’s even an app for that”

    They also had a great segment where they pretended to be representatives of Artscroll publications, coming out with a new edition, Koren-Sucks siddur.

  2. Well, I was actually in the Kesher Israel at Georgetown Shpiel this year, so I’m partial to that one. We actually haven’t posted our show up yet, but the previous years are online.

    1. If you heard someone laughing at a completely inappropriate loud level from the balcony, that was me.

      (and yes, my friends and I did leave the balcony after the shpiel, at which point there was room in the men’s section;

      actually, though from what I could tell, perhaps in line with Kesher being for sure on the Left Wing of MO [only the left wing of MO has rabbis/rabbinical interns with hair of that length],
      people moved around in between the first megillah reading and the shpiel.

      The great thing is that one of the guys in the shpiel (don’t want to use his name obviously but he graduated from Maryland last year, and he speaks with an accent that sounds kinda southern even though he’s from New Jersey) turned out to have gone to my synagogue back home [or his family did anyway].
