I decided to venture down to the Occupy San Francisco encampment last week just for shits and giggles and it was just a bunch of homeless peeps, hippies and people who could afford not to work chilling out. It was actually a lot of fun, so while I don’t agree with much of the Communism that is basically being preached, I was thinking of camping out there a couple of nights one of these days – anyone interested? So the following video freaking rules – especially the anti-Jewish ranting!

Lol! Awesome.
there are a bunch of morons out there and nuts spouting anti-semitic crap, but you can’t regard this as a legitimate view of everyone out there? this guy is a comedian and isn’t going to waste time in his video showing people who are voicing legitimate concerns.
what is the problem? corporations have an extraordinary amount of influence on our government and the way it works. as a tea partier, republican, libertarian, etc., this should be a major concern, and it is for me.
major corporations hire lobbyists, who give all kinds of money and gifts to congressmen and senators to pass laws in their favour, and it has worked. for example, cigarette companies pretty much control the way that cigarettes are taxed? in 2008, the S-CHIP bill that passed was funded by tobacco taxes, but guess which tobacco product got taxed the most? the roll-your-own tobacco which is made by smaller companies was taxed at over $20 a pound while packs of cigarettes were taxed CENTS. the bill that was supposed to be an excise tax for cigarettes turned into a way that cigarette companies could quash their competition and make more money!
here’s another example? the health care bill that was passed in 2010? guess who got that written the way they wanted it? the health care corporations. amongst other things in the bill is a mandate that FORCES you to buy health care whether you want to or not? once again, turning a bill that was supposed to regulate health care into a violation of individual rights in order to MAKE MORE MONEY.
the thing is? these days both parties are in on it. guess who president obama’s no.2 donor is? goldman sachs. and guess who mitt romney’s top donor is? goldman sachs. these corporations have the time and the resources to get these laws written in the way they want them, not only getting themselves favored treatment under the laws, but in many ways violating our personal rights. isn’t government supposed to be “by the people, for the people?”
this isn’t a republican/democrat issue? this is a “our rights are being trampled upon” issue.
Thank you for clarifying! So many 20 somethings living at home with mediocre jobs are pissing and moaning at those who are upset. We need LIVING WAGE jobs back in America!! What’s going to happen when everybody’s parents die and they can’t live off mommy and daddy anymore to supplement their $15k a year jobs? I’m intelligent and hard working. I deserve a living wage job but there are none. Every job seems to be $8 to $10 an hour and many part time. Who can live on that in NYC???
So leave New York. America is the land of opportunity!
First of all, youre bringing isolated examples as if they were indicative of a system wide problem. Real numbers would help your case. These dont.
Second, I agree there is a problem, I just dont think businesses are the ones causing it. Its a globalized economy thats causing it. Businesses that pay fair wages, benefits, retirement packages -all nice ideas- got killed. The ones that restructured and slashed local jobs survived. There is no alternative that businesses can come up with here. The solution lies with the government.

i believe that the Keynesian economics as government policy has caused the situation in which michaelisik is placed. i advocate free market policy.
