Every once in a while I get a worthy request from someone who wants me to write about their project, organization or event. In lieu of receiving a lot of these requests recently, I decided out of the pure goodness of my heart to dedicate next week to donating my time and words to making fun of and talking about these various items which have been piling up in my email inbox.
I know that I am liable to get dozens of requests for free publicity, so when you send your requests I think you should beware that although I may give you free press – it is likely that I will bash and make a mockery of whatever it is you are whoring to me. Whether you are trying to cure cancer or fund your succah mobile, all is fair game.
I feel good about this now, for I do have at least 5 items to write about, but next week may roll around and I may end up feeling like writing about something else – so email me whatever it is you feel like publicizing for the goodness of the Jews and your campaign email me at frumsatire@gmail.com

Heshy, this is very noble project (well, sort of, if you don’t count the making fun of tzedakah part), but I don’t think “In lieu of” is what you meant to say. “In lieu of” means “Instead of” which really doesn’t make sense to me in the context of what you wrote. Did you mean, “Due to receiving a lot of these requests recently. . . .”? I’ve learned to ignore all your typos and misspellings, but this seems to go above and beyond that.
That said, my favorite charity is AJWS dot org. Check them out. They operate based on the premise from Hillel’s quote,”If I am only for myself, what am I?” They have the highest rating from Charitynavigator dot org and they do more good in the world than dozens of other charities combined. (BTW the reason I’m not including links is because your site tends to spit them out.)
AJWS (American Jewish World Services) is a great organization but there are so many others like it out there. magen david adom, fidf, yad eliezer, sharsheret, etc. are some other great reputable organizations.
Actually, there are other organizations like AJWS, but none that are specifically Jewish. They are Jews working all around the world with almost exclusively gentiles. This serves an additional purpose of which I think even the organization’s management is unaware. For every gentile who sees a Jew reaching out to help alleviate his suffering, there is one less anti-Semite in the world. All the organizations you listed are exclusively Jews helping Jews. And there are more than enough charities like that. So many, in fact, that gentiles can easily look at us, and say, “Yeah, those Jews don’t care about anyone but themselves.” We know that’s not true, but AJWS is one of a handful of charities that proves it. BTW, if anyone hasn’t seen it before, go on youtube and type AJWS in their search bar, then click on the first video that comes up. It’s laugh-so-hard-your-eyes-water-and-your-sides-hurt funny.
Gentiles don’t think Jews help them because that is true. Why would I want to help some anti-semite that wishes I were dead? Of course for everyone else, yes, we should help them and we do, just not as a collective organization. For example, I might give money to a non-jewish hospital or soup kitchen but that doesn’t mean I call myself a Jewish org. if I only help non-jews.
How about we support the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee?
I’m an American Jew, and while I can’t speak for other readers, I would loves me a whole committee just to distribute joints to me and my American Jewish peeps, you dig?
Joints! Mazel Toke!
LOL!!!
I know that it isn’t a Jewish organization, but GreenDoor . org is a core service agency that helps out thousands of us mentally ill in Washington, DC through psychiatric care, day programs and home visits by CSWs. They can get you set up for Medicaid, find a place to get you food and metrocards and even give vouchers for thrift store clothes. They once had a ClubHouse (look up the clubhouse model of psychosocial rehabilitation) but it closed due to medicaid cuts. They even have ways of helping yo go to college for free, tutors if you want to learn to read. They truly care for the whole person.
I suggest the one we get mailings from that comes full of great stories about the wonderful gedolim who take (distribute?) the money and all the people who found their long lost diamond ring, or wallet, or all their unmatched socks or something, after donating to the sacred cause.
Agunah International is a great organization that helps agunot. idk if it can really be counted as tzedaka though. I don’t really think there’s a way to make fun of it though.
Hatzalah, as cliche as it is, is also a really great tzedaka.
Alright, I sell raffle tickets for my yeshivah, does that count as charity? (considering they pay me 4.50 a ticket I sell)
