Have you ever seen a Jewish Jihad video?

So I was browsing around You Tube the other day and I found this guy Rabbi Levin who’s a pretty right wing guy who loves to talk about the gays, it seems that you can’t find enough videos of Rabbi Levin telling us that he doesn’t like the gays, porn, abortion and Shmuely Boteach – but that’s not the funny part of it, most any frum person shares those same views – but the video below looks exactly like a bunch of Jihad videos I have seen – the only thing missing is the foreign journalist about to get his head cut off.

I just love the setting they used, it looks like they got jolly at some shalashudos and decided to do the video, I myself would have burst out laughing in the middle if I was there and started yelling Allah Hu Akbar as I ran around in a hoodie.

While watching some other videos I found this gem about Plant Parenthood – I can’t imagine what problems Rabbi Levin finds with plants deciding if they should have more plants or not.

In this video at about 3 minutes Rabbi Levin finally tells us why Frummies don’t like to use the word sex – apparently only animals have sex and Jews have intimacy.

  1. Offer him the oppurtunity for an interview, he is a publicity hound and will jump at the oppurtunity. His contact info is on his website.
His interview with Ed Schultz is pure greatness

  2. I cant believe he rips Rabbi Shmuley Boteach!!! he is one of the only rabbis i ever liked!!! (“reproductive obligations”?!?! hahaah) this guy is totally crazy!!!!!

    1. That say a lot about you if the only Rabbi you ever liked is a bogus chabad outcast. Are you even Jewish?

      1. @ yankel. Do u even know rabbi shmully personally? i have a feeling that if u did u wouldnt say that!

        1. I’m sorry, I don’t have to know him. I know the things he says, and they are against the Torah, and that makes him an outcast as far as Judaism is concerned.

A conservative Rabbi is wrong in what he believes, but he’s not bogus unless he portrays himself as someone he isn’t. If someone maintains beliefs and does things which Orthodox Jews are opposed to, he should not portray himself as an Orthodox Jew. A reform Rabbi would get a lot of complaints if he dressed like a Satmar guy. It’s misleading and inconsiderate.

If you don’t hold the beliefs and guidelines of a people, don’t dress like them.

          1. For the record, it’s “a$$” or @$$ if you’re being particular.

As far as the discussion goes, if you don’t have anything intelligent to say, go back to spongebob.

      2. wow you really cant stand the thought of an accepting rabbi can you? goes against your whole perception of total control

        1. please tell me which of his beliefs are against the torah? and what does he do that odox jews are opposed to that u refuse to accept him? you also break the odox rules (internet) and yet you are allowed to prtray yourself as odox

          1. Im not sure about his beliefs but he is an ignoramus. To illustrate this point here are two quotes from a recent article of his “Hate Osama, But Do Not Rejoice in His Death ”
He states “the Talmud says that G-d himself rebuked the Israelites: ‘My creatures are drowning in the sea, yet you have now decided to sing about it?” The talmud does not say that, the (talmud does say that God rebuked the angels, while the Israelites DID in fact sing about the death of the Egyptians and were praised for it). He quotes mishlei””Do not rejoice when your enemy falls, and let not your heart be glad when he stumbles” Yet the Talmud (same tractate as the previous mis-quote) States that that is referring to a Jewsih enemy, when a non-jewish enemy falls (eg Bin Laden, we should celebrate)
Of course it is possible that he is aware of his misrepresentation and is being duplicitous, though I dont think that is necessarily better than ignorant. At any rate he is certainly one of the two, take your pick.

          2. There are several different Midrashim, and one of them says that we (Israelites, not angels) only say half of Hallel after the first days of Pesach because the Egyptians drowned and we shouldn’t rejoice. So it’s not so clear-cut, Jewish enemy versus non-Jewish enemy. (That’s just one opinion trying to make sense of a difficult point.)

In any case: big deal! Since when is one a heretic (or an ignoramus) because of a tiny memory slip? That doesn’t affect the general idea of the text he’s quoting. Anyway, John, let’s say he isn’t one of your favorites, but he’s a rabbi.

          3. That depends what you mean by “Rabbi” If you mean nice guy with a beard and kipa, then yes he is a Rabbi. He seems like a really nice guy, and he does have a beard and kipa. If however you mean “Jewsih schoalr or teacher” Then sadly, no he is not a Rabbi. He isnt a scholar, he is an ignoramus. (I never said heretic, I dont think he is a heretic).
Youll note even according to the midrash you cited (Which shmully didnt cite, he missquoted a passage from talmud), we DO say shira on shvii shel pesach. Ie we do celebrate the downfall of the wicked, but it is mitigated somewhat, since people did suffer. That still goes against boteach’s point in his article about not rejoicing over bin laden’s death

          4. Well, let’s say Chazal is at least a bit ambivalent about rejoicing or not rejoicing. If you ask me, I’d say it’s ok for the Israelites to rejoice in their FREEDOM, but the midrash and mishlei seem to say that rejoicing in the KILLING of enemies is problematic.

Regarding whether he is a rabbi or not, this is ridiculous. He got his smicha, he IS a rabbi and spends most of his time teaching Torah. Last time I looked, the fact that one guy (f.ex. you) doesn’t think much of X doesn’t make X less of a rabbi. If that were the case, there would be no rabbis.

          5. I happen to know shmully boteach quite well, and was in yeshiva with him. If there is one thing u cant call him, its an ignoramus.

          6. then he is aware that he is misrepresenting talmudic statements which makes him duplicitous, in my book that is worse but I see how you can disagree

  3. i agree with everything he said, but this guy clearly has problems. is he married with kids? i wouldn’t be surprised if he were himself in the closet!

    1. He almost admitted it himself. He’s quoted as having said “I almost choked on the kosher salami” when he heard that Paladino was repudiating him.

  4. the first video should have a counter that tracks many times he says the word homosexual. i mean really, people say same-sex marriage and gay marriage but never homosexual marriage, let alone 30+ times

    1. He says “gender” to avoid the word “sex”, as in “two people of the same gender”, not knowing that that’s davka PC talk (lefty Gender Theory professor from Berkeley would say it exactly like that). And he doesn’t say “gay” because that’s the word the gay propagandists use.

  5. im just gonna list things that stand out while I watch
1)”flagrant homosexuals”? does he mean flamboyant?
2)”it is now assur to vote for…” So it would be better if we voted for a guy (it has to be a guy, voting for women is assur) who will wrecked whatever is left of the country’s economy and bend over every time the Palestinians make demands? i’m sorry where does the torah say anything like that?
3)”militant homosexuals” does anybody else find the idea of a gay militia hilarious. Maybe he was just talking about Perez Hilton.
4)the guy in the middle of the front row cracks me up for some reason
5)”frontal attack” thats what she said
    6) “Dear Pope Benedict,
please make up a halacha”… you cant just make shit up. no wonder why there are so many atheists this is nothing short of attempted mind control.
    7) swine flu? A bit dated and not an issue exclusive to frum Jews
8)”force deviancy down our throats” Wait a minute. One second you’re anti-gay, the next second you’re talking about deep throating.
    9) “genitalia agenda” WOW! that is one of the strangest things I have ever heard. Forget Jimmy Mcmillan’s Rent is too Damn High Party; now you have Yehuda Levin’s Anus Protection Squad trying squash the stab in the back door movement.
10)This guy really belongs in the Westboro Baptist Church
11)Misusing words like et al makes you sound stupid not educated
    12) Lions and tigers and Shmuley Boteach… Oh my!
    13) “kosher intimacy” doesn’t produce 14 children in one chassidish family. Sex does

  6. Meir-Ha! Heshy-I’m not a fan but the fact that they’re not calling to cut off some journalist’s head is a pretty important difference.

  7. I love how he complains in the third video that Shmuli gives Torah-true Orthodoxy a black eye, and he’s a self promoter. LOL.

    1. Ad hominem. It does not matter how much promotion is going on.

Boteach is profoundly wrong about some important things. I wish it were otherwise.

  8. so in his view if you just have a really intimate moment with someone without having $ex, theyre the same thing?!? can you get pregnant from such behavior? how about STD’s?

  9. I have a hard time supporting Israel against terrorists when the Jewish community tolerates and embraces this terrorism amongst its rabbis.

    1. In that case your moral compass is more warped than his, if you can mention in the same sentence, a whackjob spewing ignorant rhetoric, and people who gloat and delight in the murder of a family in their sleep.

      1. Don’t you understand that they are doing it for the same reason? One person just happens to have a more violent religion than the other, but if this Rabbi Levin was born a fundamentalist Muslim, he’d be right there with them, committing murder.

        1. Oh so I suppose muslim fundamentalist killers arent to blame becaue they jusat happended to be born that way?
And dont you understand that if you were a bus youd have wheels?

    1. Almost certainly against it. You can get a heter for it if you find the right rabbi, but in general it’s “be fruitful and multiply” rather than “Don’t take on responsibilities you can’t pay for.”

  10. I grew up in Kew Gardens Hills with Rabbi Levin and his brothers. They are the nicest, most ehrlich, most middosdicke family you could ever hope to meet. They are wonderful, wonderful people. I haven’t spoken to Rabbi Yehudah Levin in many years, but growing up, the family was amazing.

  11. By telling people whom to vote for these butt-flavored funnel cakes may have just crossed the line that separates untaxed religious organizations from regular taxable organizations. I’d love to see the IRS get out the Big Hammer for these self-idolatrous Tallitbanis.

    1. “Butt-flavored funnel cakes” — LOL, classic Nuran! ;^D I’m not taking sides — just admitting that particularly marvelous turn of phrase had me tickled pink. :^)

  12. Are these people serious, its assur to not discriminate against gays? I’m not saying Judaism supports homosexuality, but “militant homosexual agenda” come on.
