Smoking on Shabbat? Someone once told me a story where there were these people who always liked to get high before going to shul (I think this was at UF). Obviously they couldn’t smoke on Shabbat, so what they did was before Shabbat started they’d fill jars up with smoke.
I don’t smoke, so I don’t know if this would actually work. The person who told me about this heard it from a friend of a friend.
A manufacturer of those “Shabbos lamps” should steal that idea, Bubba, and make a “Shabbos bong.” One of the prohibitions on the Sabbath is lighting a fire, right?
That makes me think, I hear that frum Jews like to smoke a lot. (Plain old cigarettes, I mean.) I wonder what they do on Shabbos. Maybe they get that nicotine gum.
Actually, they just go without. But the second shabbos is out… Although smoking is definitely becoming a lot less popular with the frum guys now, at least the ones I know.
It just astonishes me how people consider themselves religious and indulge in that crap. I thought that video was unfunny and tasteless. As a religious person, I am offended by the fact that they made a mockery of shabbos by using profanity. That’s pun? The sex scenes didn’t help manners at all. I thought you had more class but I guess you proved me wrong. What a shame!
Realistically Religious, I have great difficulty taking your objections seriously.
You complain about the profanity in this clip, but also complain about those who “consider themselves religious and indulge in that crap”?! That language is not 100% appropriate for prime time, my friend.
Then you lament having that that Heshy “had more class” — I call bull. WHICH prior posts would have led you to believe that one of the signifying qualities of this blog would be classiness?! :^O
