You must understand that this was done in good fun, I am a Lubavitcher and Snag rolled into one. It was fun and like always the groups I made of enjoyed it.

Chitas is worse than Tanya (besides the fact that it has Tanya in it). At least everybody can agree that A”R was a Tzaddik (despite disagreeing with him). Chitas is from this generation — it’s like Chassidishe daf yoimi.
People don’t learn Chitas (unlike Tanya) to actually learn Chitas (just like the daf yoimiks don’t learn d”y do learn Gemara — it’s just something they do as a club). They learn Chitas because the Rebbe asked them to — as a way of hiskashrus. Which is… you know… evil.
CA- until you have learned all of Shas without Dafyomi, I don’t think you should be bashing it. It is a great program even if you don’t understand every daf, you still understand most of them. Also, I highly doubt a person would learn for 7 1/2 years – especially when the majority of the shiurim are during odd hours when most people are asleep or relaxing after a work day- just to say he is in a “club.”
Who says I am bashing daf yoimi? I am stating an empirical fact — people who learn it do it as a club.
Another ‘what were they thinking’ acronym:
(S)he’eris (H)aplaytah (I)nstitute of (T)orah.
what happened to that dude’s green glasses?? I guess he caught too much hell your pic? Oh, but you gotta love those funky sweatshirts, its in a freaken shul, and this is DALLAS!!! why are they walking around in hoodies??? Isnt it like 80 degrees?
It was at night and when it dips below 70 people go crazy – its 33 right now
Funny video 🙂
Funny. Not to mention that the title is enlightening for an old outsider like me–so *that’s* what “snag” means! We don’t learn “OrthoSpeak” in Conservative Hebrew Schools. 🙂
Heshy – you are really funny! We love watching your videos and reading your blog posts. Let us know when you want to visit H TOWN!!!!!!
Funny stuff. I see glasses dude likes to express himself through sweatshirts too. I was happy to see more than black and white on these boys – are they lightening up? What’s happening?
(Btw, I always thought the Alter Rebbe looked more scary than pimpy, but maybe that’s just me.)
Chanie the yeshiva in Dallas is what a yeshiva should be like – its relaxed and its not all about the black and white – there are even beis medrish guys who don’t wear velvet gasp!
