All Zwiebel Wants is to Discriminate

Gay marriage is now legal; what's a frum person to do? At least let them discriminate against LGBT folks and force them into "conversion" "therapy"

This week’s Mishpacha Magazine prominently featured the new toy’ayvah laws. There was the usual hand wringing, which is to be expected, but then there was a two page feature of an interview with David Zwiebel, president of Agudath Israel, whose main complaint was that LGBT folks might want to rent his upstairs apartment or send their kids to frum schools and he wants to discriminate against them without being sued. Boohoo, poor Zwiebel.

He also laments the fact that “conversion” “therapy” is now illegal (although its delegitimation had nothing to do with the Supreme Court ruling so…whatever) because how are yeshivas going to torture gay bochurim now?

His other big concern is that frum institutions, now that they don’t have the legal backing for their immoral religious stance, will become pariahs, and after years of making others into pariahs he knows all too well the financial consequences of being a social outcast. Boohoo, poor Zwiebel.Zwiebel on gay marriage
Zwiebel on pariah
I suspect he read our post on the consequences of gay marriage and understood that our predictions are likely to come true

  1. Hey Chaim Dovid.. Why don’t you just ignore the ruling ? Just the way your organization denied for years that there was child abuse in the Yeshivas !!
What are you going to do about the textbooks in 5-10 years that will discuss this historic ruling ? ?? And what happens if questions related to gay (same gender) marriage is on the regents ?? Will the yeshiavas ans girls schools tear out of the textbooks anything related to this ruling ?? maybe Artscroll can edit the textbooks. Maybe you can convince the Albany and Trenton legislators !! lol.

  2. There is only one solution. The yeshivas and girls schools have to have the same educational standards as Satmar. No English past the 5th grade. In regard to Parnossa, All students will have a choice to work in B and H photo, Focus Electronics, Adorama or Eastern Union.. That’s it. Nothing else !! That’s if they are not learning full time. .Drastic measures are for drastic times. Also anyone student who uses the word “gay” instead of saying Same Gender marriage should be kicked out of yeshiva. And all of his/her siblings should be thrown out of yeshiva as well..

  3. What happened to OTDWB’s post I saw yesterday? Did your vaad harabonim balk? Has frumsatire finally gotten onto the censorship bandwagon?

    1. It was a good post but the censors in the White House Kremlin emailed us saying we had to take it down because it was derisive of American Exceptionalism.

  4. Yiddish tribesmen and women should not be held to the sexual standards of the white race. We are an independent people and desire extremely heightened orgasms. Christian and Muslim groups are using law enforcement agencies to spy on freedom loving Rabbis and incestuous parents. We ask goyim and their religious leaders to follow their own sexual standards and leave us to fuck and suck unmolested.

    1. How common is parental incest in the frum community?

Whenever I walk past bais yaakov girls, I wonder if any of them are shagging their mom or sister.

  5. I’m a little confused. If you are “frum” how are you siding with gay activists, whose ultimate goal is to put we who stand for righteousness as service to HaShem into the closet they’ve came out of? If things continue trending in this direction, it will soon become illegal to merely utter words of HaShem. This will be another Nazi Germany.

    1. I’m confused. If you’re “frum” then how can you agree to send kids to against their will to a program where they’re undressed in front of each other and subjected to other abuses; does the Torah say to do this? If so, where?

      1. Please no Shragi was unable to give an actual response, and instead, resorted to flat-out letzianut. Such a shitty journalist like all these anti-Torah bloggers.

        1. Not if but when the laws are passed that make it illegal to be servants G-d, we’re all going to go down so we should stick together.

        2. I am also guilty of sin, and am only received by mercy, so I am not here to speak down at people as if from a high platform.

      2. Will you please clarify what you are talking about or else apologize for accusing me for things falsely which is against Torah?

Please let’s keep things friendly. I don’t want to call you out or make you feel bad. I’m just trying to get an understanding of what is going on here. Thanks.

        1. We’re talking about JONAH, the program whose outlawing in New Jersey David Zwiebel is mourning.
Now tell me where the Torah said you can convert someone’s sexual orientation and that JONAH follows the Torah’s methods for doing so.
Or “call me out” or make me feel bad. Either way.

          1. Shragi,
From various things I’ve read on your site, I’ve come away with the idea that you favor things like gay marriage (i.e., that you are in agreement with radical gay activists). Would you say that I was misunderstanding you?

          2. Well, I guess I have spent enough time trying to get an answer. Thanks anyways.

          3. I’m not at all saying I’m better than you, so please don’t misunderstand me; but if you reject the plain meaning of Scripture (“a man shall not lie with another man as he does with a woman”) you cannot be “frum”. I was just making an observation that the appellation “frum” was confusing.

          4. Wholly apart from my initial query (why it was that a person who seemed to reject Torah called themselves “frum”), I do believe homosexuals can be set free from their sin (whether at JONAH or not is an entirely different question).

  6. I’m not here to attack anyone. I was asking an honest question. The worst thing people can do is fight with one another. If he is not in good standing with HaShem, I will be sad and I will pray that G-d will make him be in good standing with Him–with JOY and PEACE and LOVE. 🙂

  7. Not that I agree with the view, but wasn’t it believed that not a single Jew can be lost “forever”. I’m asking because the guys in the second video were saying Jews would burn in hell “forever”.
