  1. Sorry, but you have to read between the lines. “We must report abuse to the proper authorities as soon as we know it has happened” leaves lots of room in the Chareidi mind. First is the definition of “proper authorities.” Remember the summer camp last summer that reported the abuse to THEIR LAWYER.

Next, and the big one, is “as soon as we know it has happened.” This does not in Agudah-speak mean as soon as you hear about it. It means as soon as a rabbi decided it happened and authorizes you to speak to law enforcement.

How many times in the past ten years has an Agudah rabbi ever authorized anyone to report sexual abuse of minors to law enforcement?

  2. I particularly like how it it is “not endorsed by Project Yes”, when Project Yes was founded by Agudah.

I guess that might be for legal reasons if they are afraid of being sued by Project Yes for trademark infringement, but that seems pretty wildly bizarre.

      1. Well, looks like Matzav picked it up. I don’t know what to believe anymore. But, if it isn’t real, hopefully they’ll see how everyone wants it, and make it real.
